ok maybe hate is a strong word…. but these photos have been sitting on my hardrive for in some cases over a year and it was only a recent experience of deciding to go through my old photos that I realized I had so many that I tossed aside at the time due to a self-critical voice telling me that these photos were not what I had envisioned and to just scrap them, and in the process of going back through I found so many that I actually really like and cherish.

I think a large part of being a photographer (and artist in general) is wrestling with that hyper critical voice in your head that says “your *fill in the blank* is not good enough" and realizing that it is just delusional.

I’ve now learned that if I am not liking a particular photo I’ve shot or a particular way I have edited it that I need to take some space and come back to it at a different time since thats usually all I need to start appreciating my art rather than judging it.

Would love to hear if there is a photo here that you really enjoyed or connected with :) by @jacksnaps__
