Theme from Independence Day (score by David Arnold) I'm preparing on cornet for an upcoming SF brass band concert! It's been so fun playing with this group, and this excerpt is especially beautiful! #trumpet #cornet #brassband #musicteacher #rehearsal by @jackson.tpt

this 1st trumpet Britten excerpt ... oh my lord (not as bad as the 3rd trumpet excerpt) but damn the precision and rhythmic accuracy of this part has me sweating bullets 😵‍💫 #trumpet #trumpetplayer #musicteacher #practicesession #britten by @jackson.tpt

WORK IN PROGRESS: trying to relax my mind and body through technically challenging passages (such as this section of Arthur Honegger's Intrada) 😅 filming my practice affords me the opportunity to assess areas of physical tension (neck, shoulders, face, tongue) even though i think i look like an idiot 🥴 #trumpet #trumpetplayer #practicesession #musicteacher #auditionseason by @jackson.tpt

second portion of the Honegger Intrada! a slower, more mysterious vibe ~ trying to focus on centering my pitch and maintaining a darker, warmer tone #trumpet #trumpetplayer #musicteacher #auditionseason #practicesession by @jackson.tpt

ah yes, the opening to Mahler 5 – always stressful 🙃 i think my 16th notes need to be tighter and my dynamic contrast could be WAY better ... idk i'm fairly happy with this take tho ~ #trumpet #trumpetplayer #musicteacher #practicesession #orchestra #auditionseason #mahler5 #mahler by @jackson.tpt
