Two days of climbing and one afternoon of sliding down a 300m tall, almost vertical wall of rock and dirt.

You won’t be alone on this trail in summer, with literally hundreds of people completing it each week, the yurt towns along the way grow each year as more and more people come to this beautiful mountain country.

It’s no surprise this is the most popular multi-day hike in the country, lakes, pine forests, incredible valleys, glaciers and alpine passes, it’s got it all.

The climb is tough, the views are spectacular and the descent is intense, but that’s what makes an adventure!

The first interview we ever recorded, in one of the holiest places in India, almost two years ago.

The story of what brought Mr. Hegde to Varanasi didn’t make the cut for our first short film in 2023 and sat on a hard drive for years, untouched.

We spoke with him for almost an hour about why he and his family came to this auspicious city thousands of kilometres from his home, what happiness meant to him and what he would like from his life.
