8 years ago today i walked into my brother gabriel’s room and asked him to pray with me to start an eternal relationship with Jesus. on a seemingly random night in november the God of the universe called me home. what a beautiful sight that is-a broken son coming back to his perfect Father to be made new. wow that gets me emtional.

today i was talking with a friend about a long simple obidence in one direction. i couldn’t think of a better way to describe what i desire my relationship with Jesus to look like-a long simple obidence in one direction.

the past 8 years have been incredibly challenging yet the most rewarding. i've lost my life for the sake of Jesus but in losing my life i've found life. Jesus says that the person that tries to save their own life will lose it, but the person that loses it will have eternal life. (matthew 16:25)

choosing to give my life away to Jesus is the best decison i've ever made in my life and i'm here to proclaim that tonight :))

“lovesick”

today marks 9 years since i walked into my brother gabriel’s room and asked him to pray with me to start my relationship with Jesus.

it’s such a joy to follow Jesus and it’s the hardest thing i’ve ever done. the truth is that this last year has been super refining. i've seen the Lord move a lot and i've made a lot of mistakes. by no means do i have this “following Jesus” thing figured out, but i will share this truth that a friend sent me a few weeks ago -

“God reminded me of what it would be like to stand before him, most assured of my guilt. guilt that is absolutely deserved…but now, because of Jesus, i can stand before him, my Father, with perfect peace, completely assured of my innocence because the blood of my savior is the documentation that proclaims my freedom. under what other circumstances would i ever get even the slightest earthly glimpse of this reality?”

i’ve been fascinated with the word “lovesick” recently. it’s this truth that my soul longs for my Heavenly Father more than anything else. there’s this intensity to this longing in my soul that words fall short to describe. my soul longs for my brokenness and the worlds brokenness to cease. my soul thirsts for this world to be made new again. my soul desires the love that only my savior Jesus can offer me. the truth is that im lovesick and i long deeper than anything else to be in perfect unity with my God.

i’m only 9 years into following Jesus and im reminded of this truth today - there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus - its by grace that ive been saved and it's not by any of my works that i get to sit with my Heavenly Father completely assured of my innocence - and how dare broken man like me proclaim innocence over my life other than through Jesus Christ!!
