What’s the thing nobody told you about our Industry??

The goal post keeps moving…
You reach the thing you were chasing, and instead of feeling like you’ve arrived, it just feels like pressure to top it.
Doing great hair and teaching great hair turned out to be two completely different skill sets. Being good behind the chair didn’t make me good as an educator. I had to learn that part separately.
And the business side? Harder than the hair side. Nobody warns you about that.
I came for Brilliant Lightener and a Color line with ingredients I could trust. I stayed because I found a community that genuinely wanted to see me succeed, and helped me learn the parts nobody teaches you. @jackwinnpro

🖤 Hot Tip Tuesday

When brushing out my set and cooled off curls I spay a little Shinelock in my hair brush so as it goes through my hair it smoothed out any little flyaways, And then redefine with Prime Shine.

Now my hair is done for the next several days! Lol

Okkk I’m going to say it… I really don’t believe in one size fits all lightener. 🙆🏼‍♀️ Like at all….And honestly, there was a point in my career where I only kept one lighter in stock and pretty much used it for everythingggg….

Now I keep three different ones because different hair simply needs different things.💁🏼‍♀️

For this beauty, I used @jackwinnpro Brilliant Paint lightener. It’s technically a balayage lightener, but it’s also my go to gentlest option… and since I’m taking already blonde really fine hair even blonde I didn’t feel like anything more aggressive.

I just needed the one that made the most sense for her hair.

So I gotta know. Are you exclusive to one lightener… or do you keep multiple at your fingertips? Lets talk about it….

Walked the Milan windows last night and I’m calling it: this is the early 2000s again. Lace, layering, lingerie worn on the outside. And here’s my take for hair — lived-in is over. When the clothes are this layered, the color has to look finished. Base + highlights. Tone-on-tone. Global bleach and tone. Texture in the cut, polish in the color. Stylists, tell me if you’re seeing it too 👇
