Tsaigu Trail
柴古唐斯扩苍越野赛

The Tsaigu 100km category used to be 115km. The category was revised to 105km in 2024. Due to the super typhoon Kong-rey, Tsaigu largely modified the race routes in the 2024 edition. So this 105km route was first used in 2025. This route description was posted by runners during the 2025 edition. 2026 should be following the same route. Some of the information might be lost while asking AI to summarise the text in English. Do refer to the chinese version if you are able to.

Tsaigu Trail
柴古唐斯扩苍越野赛

105km route description
105km 路线分析

Summary: This 13 km route to Fayun Temple has 620 m of ascent and 193 m of descent. It starts at Xingshan Gate Square, follows city roads to Lansheng Gate, and continues for about 4.6 km along the Jiangnan Great Wall. After descending at Jingyue Gate, runners cross Zhongjin Floating Bridge and cover about 2.5 km of village roads before climbing the Zishanao Ancient Trail towards Shizishan Reservoir. The final section follows uphill farm tracks, ancient trails, and orchard steps to Fayun Temple. The route is rated ★★ in normal conditions and ★★★ in rain; key challenges are the Great Wall’s 180 m-plus climb, potentially slippery wet surfaces, and the sustained final ascent. The course is the same for all three race categories. If you miss the cut-off time, please collect your “undertrained” medal.

Summary: This 8.8 km section from A1 Fayun Temple to A2 Xiwang Valley has 375 m of ascent and 750 m of descent. It begins with a 1 km concrete-road descent, followed by two gradual 500 m climbs that complete about half of the section’s ascent. A fast 2 km descent through bamboo forest follows; watch for mossy rocks and slow down for the very steep concrete slope after the tea plantation. After Suxian Village, continue on an easy, high-speed descent to Xiwang Valley, then follow the concrete road for about 400 m to the Xishan Coffee checkpoint. The route is mainly fast, non-technical dirt-road descending. Refuel well at A2 because a major climb follows, and leave space between runners near the checkpoint for clearer photographs.

The views are absolutely stunning!

On a separate note, the race organiser was thrashed upside down by the participants. 风景是超美,但举办方却被选手们吐到乱七八糟 🤣😂

People like to go to the hut and touch the pillar, or the summit rock when they reach the Bukit Timah summit.

I prefer to make a round at the round about.

It was still assessible during the first loop. When I came up during the second loop, it was closed to the public for the renovation. Opening when the renovation is completed in Mar 2027.

Gluna 哥鲁纳 ??? The design looks uncannily similar to Kailas. Is this the "putian" version of kailas?

Kailas 是不是被 “莆田” 了?😄😄

Finally found this sound track! 😀

A relax and catching tune. It makes the phrase “这里不让停车” pops in the mind.

Dehors by Jordann (2017)

There is a cantonese version called 一人行 sung by 曾舜晞 in 2024. Yup, the 明教教主张无忌 曾舜晞. That version is nice too, but could not find in the IG audio.
