A huge thank you to the @africanmediaawards, @russiantv_news, the @africanunionof, the Patrice Emery Lumumba Foundation and the Kwame Nkrumah Foundation for recognising my work ‘The Evolution of Namibian Music’ and awarding me as the first Namibian winner at the maiden African Media Awards.

This moment is bigger than me, it’s a win for Namibian storytelling, for our artists and for every creative who believes in the power of our narrative.

Thank you for celebrating our history, our sound and our identity.

And a special thank you to my employer @nbcnamibia for giving young journalists like myself a platform to practice our craft and to amplify our voices, not only locally, but globally as well.
