1973 Our horse Taffy 🦄and "Save our Kangaroos"These Save the Kangaroo T-shirts were proudly worn by yours truly and my sisters Joanne and Jenny as we supported Evelyn Cleary's campaign to Save the Kangaroos. We were so very grateful to Evelyn, a local animal lover on the Northern Beaches who played a major role in leading Milton Stock Police to finding our horse Taffy after she had been stolen when tethered in parklands at North Curl Curl. Her absence and then her return attracted media attention via television, radio and print. Here is a newspaper clipping displaying how happy we were to have our beautiful mare back home with us after 2 very long months without her.Today is WORLD KANGAROO DAY and this unique species is under threat. Animals Australia has all the concerning information about their plight. Refer post @animalsaustralia 🧡Consumerism of this type once again supports cruelty to animals. THE ZEN OF CAT 📚🐈‍⬛By Carla Francis - a little review by me JT.@carlafrancis_authorThis beautifully crafted guide to Japanese philosophy is well researched, referenced and imbued with the spirit of Carla's own experiences in Japan. My doggy ears moved throughout the pages marking the spot as it continued its journey from front to back. I also made cat tails along the way, these are folds at the bottom of many pages that I wish to return to just like a cat does to their favourite sunny spot. My imperfect folds are the closest I get to macrame reminding me of the wabi sabi that exists nonetheless. Congratulations CJ, not all books that I read have a permanent life on my bookcase but The Zen of Cat does.
