Some cast stickers I painted for The Queen's Will at @kumukahua I'm still fairly rusty when it comes to likeness and i rushed a little bit, but I'm still pretty happy with how they came out. This was one of my favorite shows to work on and these 3 absolutely killed it, it was amazing. Sadly, the run is over, but if you're on island, definitely check out Kumu Kahua. I'm not sure I've ever seen a show here that wasn't amazing. taken in Honolulu, Hawaii by @jacmurart

THE QUEEN’S WILL, by Sean T. C. O’Malley. late on posting this, but i basically blinked and the run was over.

an incredible ride. i joked with harry that he needs to stop giving me historical dramas, but this one was so very special to me— it gave me a chance to work with three juggernauts on stage, and dig deeper into the actor/director process than i’d ever had before. in the journey to hold competing truths in one space, we found such amazing work to be done and incredible craft on their parts. and they enjoyed a beautiful run. thank you to my actors, who delivered solid gold on stage every single fucking night. congratulations, friends.

this also gave me a chance to work with my brother reb after so many years— he was one of my first directors when i started out almost twenty years ago, but beyond that, we’ve known each other since we were kids running around halsey terrace. we grew up, and he got to see me grow in our community theatre scene. getting to direct him in his return to the stage was the most fulfilling job i’ve done in theatre. love you, brother.

a fond mahalo to the house of la’anui for supporting us. big mahalo to the murphys, sher, and pam for being the best back-of-house crew we could ever ask for. big mahalo to our fabulous design team, y’all made a beautiful show. big mahalo to darryl for being my right-hand, keeping me sane every single day. and my most heartfelt mahalo to sean, for trusting me in this process, and letting me put his words on stage— genuinely, a privilege to mount the world premiere of this script.

Sorry yall, haven't been finishing much recently. the learning curve for game development is basically a shear cliff. I haven't been doing much on my universe either unfortunately but sometimes, when i have free time and don't have access to technology, I'll throw stuff in a sketchbook. i always thought landscape paintings/renders would be one of the best ways to get the feel of the universe across best but I've just never been able to do it justice with my current skill level. anyway I'm definitely gonna keep trying. and i for sure gotta get back to writing those books, but I'm still stuck. wondering if i should take a break to write a bunch of short, x-files type stories featuring Emmerson and his ...sister? so lmk if that sounds interesting. I'll try not to get to caught up in larger canon if i go that route, so i can do them quicker. :)

I'm back ⭐️ :) Hopefully.
I've been in a bit of an indescribable mood recently, mostly because of personal projects that I've been stuck with and i realized that i haven't really done many paintings recently. I saw this piece from @joshwhite_artist and it kinda flipped something i guess, so i decided to do some diet plagiarism to get my mind back on track. I made this 3ish-hour mostly one-layer painting, probably somewhere on Centauri. i honestly don't like how it came out at all i tunnel visioned on a lot of things, the values are all wrong, my composition is kinda ass, i couldn't get it too look good without keeping the sketch so i had to leave it, the figures look kind of horrible, etc. but it definitely feels good to force myself to finish something every once in a while.
don't worry, i plan on doing a better version in blender at some point :) but i still have to make every asset imaginable...
