“Patterns in Time” is the debut concept album by English producer KUB (a.k.a Jacob John James Brown), released on Irish Hip Hop Record Label “Ill Records” in May 2025. The record explores the intersection between human experience and sound, using rhythm and texture as reflections of consciousness and memory. Blending analog sampling, live instrumentation, and ambient sound design, KUB crafts a meditative sonic narrative where each track represents a moment suspended in time, imperfect, transient, and deeply human. The album drifts between hip-hop, downtempo, and experimental electronica, evoking influences such as J Dilla, Madlib, Pete Rock and Vangelis, while establishing KUB’s own introspective and transcendental sound. Whilst taking direct inspiration from Eckart Tolle’s spiritual teachings. Patterns in Time invites the listener inward, to sense the invisible rhythm that connects sound, emotion, and being.
