It’s hard to say goodbye to the game that gave me everything.

Four years ago, when I was a freshman, I had the thought in my brain “I still have four more years”. Little did I know that those four years would go by in the blink of an eye.

Through bottomed out lows, insanely high highs, and all of the in between, I’ve build memories and relationships that will last a lifetime. It’s only been three days since I played my last high-school football game and I already feel like I’m missing a piece of myself.

To my teamates, I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to perform better and help us get the season that we all wanted. If there was one thing that I could change about the past, it would be not skipping a single workout, giving 100 percent effort in the offseason, and being a better leader and getting others into the offseason programs. Remember, if no one else believes in you, I promise that I do. I’m here for you, and im only on message away.

To my coaches, thank you for always being there for me. Whether I bothered you with stats not being up, film problems, or even about plays not working, you never gave up on me. I’m extremely grateful that you spent your valuable time to make me a better player, but more importantly a better citizen.

To the underclassmen, do not take these next few years for granted. I promise you will deeply miss playing football and regret not doing everything in your power to win. I always liked to think of it like this, seniors only have 8 games left, juniors 16, sophomores 24, and freshman 32. Trust me, time flies.

Lastly, to my parents, thank you for always being at my games and supporting me. Thank you for spending tons of money for equipment, travel, and many other things. Thank you for believing in me to be the best person that I could be.

These past few years will go down as some of the best years of my life. But as you know, all things must come to an end at some point, life is only temporary. Thank you, Red Oak football. taken in Red Oak, Iowa by @jacobclarkpatterson

I might be a little late posting this but thanks to all of the seniors who have helped me all through my high school football journey.
