There are so many ways to play Chopin’s waltz in C-sharp minor, especially since there are several sections that repeat throughout the piece. For that reason, I always want to make each section feel different, so in this performance I chose to bring down both the dynamics and the tempo for the last repetition of the A section.

I love NYC when it rains, and I had to create a piece to reflect that. As I began writing this idea, I very quickly realized how well it would sit in a Ghibli film, so I used that as inspiration as I continued to develop the music.
