My interpretation of the future of couture is grounded in a world where nature and human impact have intertwined into a new whole. This dress, inspired by the form of a plastic bag, made of silk. The sculptural element, inspired by the skeleton of a stingray, created from the same silk fabric, treated to hold a standing structure. Softness and structure merge, reflecting a dialogue between fragility and strength. The result is a couture where natural organisms and human-made constructions come together as one.

Process images from my second look in my second-year collection at @beckmanscollegeofdesign “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” 🐺

This look continues my exploration of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, focusing on the early stages of inner corruption, a moment where the exterior still appears innocent, while darkness has begun to take root within. Rather than portraying a fully corrupted character, this design reflects a person in transition, caught between purity and decay.

To express this duality, I developed my own material: a knitted core enclosed between two layers of silk organza, laminated with saddle soap. The delicate, translucent surface conceals a growing structure beneath, symbolising how an emerging darkness can remain hidden behind beauty and refinement.

Through this look, I explore how transformation is often subtle — existing first within, long before it becomes visible. by @jacobploski

Some process images from my second-year collection at @beckmanscollegeofdesign ”Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” 🐺

My collection is inspired by Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray. I have explored the contrast in Dorian’s transformation. from a man whose beauty and innocence were reflected in both body and soul, to someone who manages to preserve his outward appearance while his inner self grows increasingly corrupt.

Nobel Creations 2024 @beckmanscollegeofdesign ✨

Last year, @ohlenjohn and I were tasked with interpreting the 2024 Nobel Prize in Medicine, awarded to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for their groundbreaking discovery of the fundamental role of microRNAs in gene regulation.

The dress is made of silk organza with a draped silk organza band treated with resin.
