I’ve looked at this first photo a lot over the past few months. It, unintentionally, became a sort of identity for me; a feeling of being swallowed by tunnel vision.

I just told myself: One day at a time. One, small, thing… at a time. One good thing - at minimum - one good thing, each day.

The past three months have been the most difficult period of life I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve been filled with grief and despair, sadness and mourning.

But there’s positives in here, too. It’s easy to let those sad and depressing things win and overtake you. Hell, it’s become almost natural for that to happen. Not letting the bad things win, though, it’s important. It’s important for self love, for enjoyment, for happiness, for… life, in general.

I’ve overcome a lot recently. I turned to running earlier this year to help with stress and anxiety, and I ran my first half marathon in October. Hopefully my second in a few weeks — and that’s just the start. I owe running a lot, but I owe a lot to the people in my life, too.

Knowing there’s love, knowing there’s support & knowing that there is, indeed, a positive to be taken each and every day… that’s what’s kept me going the past couple months.

This is just a snippet, but these people, they mean so, so much to me — and they’ve helped me through a time in my life I didn’t expect nor see coming. I’m so, so appreciative.

Find those who do that for you. Continue to love yourself. Do your best; that’s all you can do. Really… just continue to keep trying, learning, understanding and growing.

I’ll hit my stride, and luck will come way. Until then, though, one day at a time — and I’ll just be doing the best I can. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @jacobschneider13

2024, huh.

Unexpected, yet welcome. Challenging, yet rewarding.

Moved across the country to the city that never sleeps, knowing just two people — one of whom I’d never met. Moved into an apartment with four strangers, signing a lease based off a FaceTime video with a realtor.

Crazy, huh.

I feel like I’ve found a home though.

A lot of lattes later, hundreds of miles run & spending my evenings getting lost on the train — I’ve found my home.

I’m still learning, understanding and figuring life out, but 2025 feels like a year of new beginnings for me.

Year one in NYC? We’ll call it a trial period. There were a lot of ups, and a lot of downs, but I’ve figured shit out — for the most part.

But 18 months ago, I was out of a job & living in my mom’s basement living an unhealthy lifestyle. I’m proud of where I’ve come, the changes I’ve made to find success & the life I’m living.

Never settle, always challenge — and embrace obstacles.

Cheers to navigating unsteady waters, cheers to good people & cheers to opportunity. Embrace it, accept it & don’t let it go 🫡 by @jacobschneider13
