Slow burn apocalypse, 2022. Collage, acrylic, ink transfer on paper. Some of these materials have been carried around with me for 2 decades, worked into various pieces and finally, made permanent together for this. The woman in the sears carpet ad from a 1960s magazine seemed so sad, the fruit from early Martha Stewart magazines so erotic and glossy, ironically painterly margarine and banana ads, butterflies and an abstract rainbow seemed to make this more magical. Layers and layers of gouache, glitter and medium to make the whole thing feel sticky, wet, shadowy- thick. A few more layers of acrylic and it will become a decal…The paper will erode away and all that will remain is the pigment embedded in its plastic web. I purposely abuse the paper and let it wrinkle to show just how fragile it is- 50 year old newsprint shrinking and curling as the polymer forms on it. by @jacobyboles

Wanted to preserve this little digital interaction I had with Diane Keaton, because it was such a sweet little surreal moment. Halloween 2023, Diane’s Instagram was posting photos of people dressed as her, so I grabbed a wig (actually a Thor wig but it was pretty sassy), put on a turtleneck (I own many) and there I was having a little chat with our girl Diane or whoever was running her account. I hope it was her, and even if it wasn’t- I felt the love. 🤍 🖤. by @jacobyboles
