Every premiere begins long before opening night.

Last week, we completed the first stage of rehearsals with choreographer @jacopogodani — one of Europe’s leading contemporary choreographers. Throughout the process, our dancers explored his distinctive movement language under the guidance of his assistant @zoe.lnz

I first crossed paths with @jacopogodani at the dawn of my artistic journey. In an instant, he revealed a universe I had never known:a place where form dissolved, where certainty faded, and where the body became an endless landscape of possibility waiting to be explored.
Nearly two decades later, I find myself returning to that same universe. His language still possesses the rare power to unsettle, transform, and awaken. It asks for courage, surrender, and truth. And once again, I am left mesmerized by its depth and its boundless freedom.

Welcoming Jacopo Godani — “Echoes from a Restless Soul” making its Boston debut with Lam Dance Works’ upcoming show.

An internationally acclaimed choreographer born in La Spezia, Italy, Godani began studying classical ballet and modern dance alongside Fine Arts at the Carrara Art Academy. He later continued his training at Maurice Béjart’s renowned international dance center Mudra in Brussels. Godani made his professional debut dancing with contemporary companies in Paris and Belgium, and at just twenty-one, directed his first dance company in Brussels—marking the start of his career as a choreographer and artistic director.
