Sunshine Coast 70.3 was a great race where everything came together. Cancelled Nice, France and went for this instead so that family could make it too.
.
Grateful for an stress-free injury-free lead up & the opportunity to spend family time.
This race was a validation in learning to understand oneself better in the work required to train for a race (an on-going never ceasing process) and also, a reminder that family friends & relationships are what grounds us, in this life we live only once.
.
Super grateful to be able to keep racing for more than two decades already!! I even got a special shout out from the race commentator for apparently “racing all over Asia!” - well I didn’t know I was famous I quipped as I crossed that finish line..
.
And onto a slew of Jacqtours travel.. coming up next #JacqtoursNagano followed by #JacqtoursItaly recee trips.
.
Grateful every day for the opportunity to be doing what I love, to love and to be loved. Here’s to celebrating life, love & purpose. I think if we have that, we can go on happily for quite some time;)

Selleronda 51km, +1,710m - After Stelvio, Giau & Fedaia, this sixth and final ride in the Italian alps was a relatively easy day!!
.
Comprising:
Passo Pordoi 2,239 m
Passo Sella 2,218 m
Passo Gardena 2,121 m
Passo Campolongo 1,875 m
.
At +9,500m total elevation, Jacqtours Dolomites was the most amount of climbing any of us had ever done, except for Dolomiti local @mattteoaielli of course. We had no idea how we would do it but we did - thanks to brilliant support crew @expedmedical for feeding, watering & general kicks up the ****

Jacqtours Dolomites 3-10 Jul 2027. Limited slots available. Deets & registration link in bio.

With +1,910m elevation over 61.5km, this was said of Ride 5 Fedaia: “Broken” + “Hell” + “Hardest climb ever”.
.
Passo Fediaia at av 9% featured sustained sections of 12%-16% gradients. Hot sun + roadworks had us cycling the steepest segments on rough unpaved roads under beating sun.
.
But the descents were glorious and everything else was easier after this shock to the system, with Passo Pordoi to end the loop followed by a glorious descent.
.
Next year we’ll do this route in reverse. Save the dates 3-10 Jul 2027 for Jacqtours Dolomites.

Passo Gavia and onwards from the Italian alps around Bormio to the UNESCO heritage site known as the Dolomites. But first, we stop by Pontedilegno - Matteo’s village in the alps - for warm local hospitality. The day’s highlight! Pics: @johnleepictures
