Still kicking myself for never sharing this milestone session from last fall. I have photographed this family since their oldest was a newborn. It’s hard not to think about how much my life has changed the past few years….how many families have grown and changed in front of my lens. It’s so bittersweet watching my babies AND your babies grow.
🤍 If it’s been a minute since your last session, consider this your gentle reminder to get in front of the camera — you’ll be so glad you did!

I’m going to open 2 mini session spots this Friday (10/17) and next Sunday (10/26)

Proof of (Business) Life ✨

Do I still take photos? Yes. Am I bad at posting them? Also yes. 
If you make it to the end of this novel, you’ll find the answer to the question I get every. single. fall: 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀?

Truth Time: Social media and I have… issues. If I’m editing, I feel guilty opening Instagram. If I open Instagram, I fall down a reel-hole of crafts I’ll never have time to do. And if I do post, I worry someone thinks I’m doomscrolling instead of working on their gallery. Basically: no-win.

And since we’re telling the truth: I take a long time to edit galleries. 🙈 Not because I’m bad at it, but because after 14 years, I’ve turned into a smidge (ok, maybe more than a smidge) of a perfectionist. During your session, I’m not stopping your toddler’s giggles to smooth every flyaway, or asking you to fake-laugh again just because you might have pulled your chin back for half a second and created the illusion of a double chin (that absolutely doesn’t exist in real life). We play, we capture real smiles (and occasionally tantrums), and then I do the behind-the-scenes work so the final images are chef’s kiss.

Flyaways, blemishes, random dog in the background — gone. All you’ll see is you, your kids, and your family at their best.

So yes, I’m still here, and I’d love to see your sweet families this fall 🍂. 
And for the first time in years… I’m considering 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! I’m torn between doing set days of back-to-back petite sessions or a “bring a friend and save” setup where you pick the date. Which option would be best for your family?

All this to say: book with me, and you’ll get photos that are real, beautiful, and the best version of you — even if I’m not shouting about it on Instagram every five minutes. by @jacquelynsmith
