This Saturday May 11th, 2024 11am - 3pm at The New School.

@parsonsschoolofdesign and The New York Fashion Workforce Development Coalition are hosting the first of its kind, Refugee and Asylee Fashion Design Career Fair. There will be about 20 Fashion Design Studios based in New York City looking to place candidates on the spot into open positions in their manufacturing and production studios.

The attendees will receive additional resources provided by the Department of Labor. Translators will be present to help with translations throughout the event. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

If you know any sponsored refugees or asylees new to NYC who are skilled garment workers please share the information. Also share with those who manage or own Garment/Fashion studios here in NYC to attend. Sign-Up to volunteer and for providers links in my bio.

I’m happy I got to attend the tv series premier of @thequestarmy_official on @disneyplus. The premier was a hit and a ton of fun. Not only did I get to go to a super fun exclusive event, I got to wear custom Jacques Louis from my dear friend and designer Naika Colas. She made this garment for me and I adore it! It is made from #tencel Lyocell which is a eucalyptus cellulose fiber that is #compostable.

We have been friends and working together since day 1 in our early days of sewing and modeling, and we both have come a long way. I am a very proud friend. If your are looking for some garments with a similar aesthetic contact Naika at @jacqueslouisjlc .
