World Cup: Work Edition ⚽️ I played soccer all of my life and celebrate the World Cup like the global holiday it is. So I have a new job… and it’s been absolutely pivotal in my healing journey ❤️ These past several years I’ve spent quite alone- from only talking to a camera for work, to struggling with chronic dissociation trapped in my own head, to then navigating an intensive healing journey with just me and my therapists. There’s been a lot of solitude… but now I’m back in the real world as a Brand Ambassador, working a different event with new people every week. And it’s been one of the most important things I’ve done on my healing journey ❤️ I forgot how extroverted I am, how much I need social interaction to charge my battery. I didn’t realize how much I craved variety and new experiences to avoid routine. I forgot I’m fun and optimistic and quick-witted and bright, and that I don’t need to escape my reality or dissociate out of my body when life feels so full. But I’m also getting to know my parts as they get activated in these various situations. And, now equipped with years of IFS and parts work, I’m getting more and more integrated in real time. I can feel my parts trusting me to take control, I can feel myself becoming whole, I can feel that I’m finally getting the life I’ve always wanted. There are downsides of course, like my body still being in constant pain, or the struggle of hustling in an inconsistent industry. But I’m living a full life again, and I’m the happiest I’ve been in years 🫶❤️ healing from so much trauma is a lifelong endeavor, but at least I’m starting to have fun in this process! by @jacyerin
