had to take a week to reflect on the fact that my time as an athlete has come to an end. i’ve spent my whole life practicing, performing & competing. 12 years ago i tried out for the middle school cheer team & was hooked from day one. this sport has brought me amazing friendships, opportunities, experiences & insurmountable joy. cheerleading has been my outlet, the one place nothing else mattered. this sport has kept me sane for half of my life & i’m really not sure how to navigate life without it. years of pushing my body past its limit every single year. a fractured foot, two ankle surgeries, countless ankle sprains, three concussions & an achilles strain during my last nationals season ever. but i’d do it all over again for the sport that has given me so much. to any coach i’ve had, thank you for pushing me & making me better. thank you for allowing me to do what i love. especially thank you to @ballstatecheer for letting me do what i love after having emersyn & believing that my body could do it. to every teammate i’ve had along the way, thank you for countless laughs, falls, hits, new skills & fun practices. thank you to anyone who has ever held my feet, my ankles, or my legs in a pyramid. thank you to my top girls for letting me hold you up in all those pyramids. thank you for catching me in baskets (most of the time #iykyk love yall). thank you to my family, especially my parents for dealing with the crazy roller coaster. couldn’t have done everything i did without yall. i will cherish these memories & this sport for the rest of my life. thank you cheerleading for the best 12 years 🤍 officially reTIRED! 🥺🫶🏽 by @jada.cooper
