BAMA RAISED ME BUT UAB MADE ME🐉

Who would’ve ever thought I would grow to love this school. When I first transferred to UAB, I cried everyday of my first semester of nursing school. This wasn’t what I had envisioned for myself when I thought about college (I just knew it was Bama😂). BUT GOD. This school has helped me grow so much over these 5 semesters. UAB gave me some of my best friends and an even bigger family. This was definitely the place for me. I guess it’s safe to say “Go Blazers!”💚

Luke 12:48 “To whom much is given, much is required”. I can most definitely say that I have put in the work that was required.

To my Dejá K,
Losing you a month before I started college felt like the end of the world, some days it still does. You were my first patient, my storm and my peace, my personal trainer and favorite cuddle buddy.
Thank you for giving me the caregiver role. For loving me, when I was impatient and didn’t understand. Thank you for being my purpose and my WHY. You gave me lessons years before I was ready. You prepared me in ways that I cannot thank you enough. For a future that I had no clue was ahead, you taught me how to fight and keep pressing. You taught me strength and how to handle my own weight. Thank you for being my BEST teacher. I see you in some of my patients and I can’t do anything but smile. I hope I am making you proud. The greatest gift is being able to take care of patients like I took care of you. I love you and I thank you so much. HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY SWEET GIRL🤍
