I’m so grateful for everyone who came out to see my work and support. Thank you to @bydvnlln and @vivalacie for allowing me to showcase my work @artscapebmore and giving me this platform and opportunity! I’m so rich in life to have such supportive friends (@lipssooonasty and Nyx) they literally hung all my work for me and answered and showed up for me every time I bothered them even early in the morning and late at night. Thank you to my mentors and my friends also for answering every question that I bothered them with and helping me through every moment of indecision. I’m thankful for my family; I hope that my paintings do the talking for me and explain how much they mean to me. Also I thank them for allowing me to use their faces all the time lol😂🫶🏾🫶🏾. I can’t explain how grateful I am for these 4 days and my village of people who always show up for me🫶🏾💕! by @jadamcalileyart

My first mural completely on my own from the design process to painting:)! This one is in West Baltimore, make sure to stop by to see it!! Thank you to @st_ambrosebaltimore and the residents in the building for allowing me to bring this to life. I enjoyed meeting the people who lived in the building and those who were passing by. I loved being able to talk to people and get to know the residents. Hearing how they were able to connect with the mural gave me motivation every time I worked on it. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your community!! :D

“Sunday Relaxation” oil paint and spray paint, 50x60in
This work references my first good oil painting lol (last slide) I’m continuing to experiment with layers, transparency, and movement; playing with what I leave out and what I cover from the base layer with spray paint. by @jadamcalileyart

Portraiture meets abstraction in the work of @jadamcalileyart and @bmoresmug.

Jada McAliley draws from family, memory and Black identity to create intimate figurative works rooted in personal experience and tradition.

Paige Orpin, working as BMORESMUG, uses bold color, movement and form across painting, murals and public art—building a visual language deeply connected to Baltimore and its communities.

Selected works from both artists will be featured at the White Sands Opening Reception.

Synergy brings together the Top Three Award Recipients from the 2025 Best of Baltimore exhibition—Jada McAliley, Maurice Scarlett III, and G. Pack.

Each artist has developed a distinct visual language shaped by living and working in Baltimore. Together, their individual practices create a larger conversation about place, perspective, and connection. The exhibition culminates in a new collaborative work, Synergy, uniting three self-portraits into a single painting.

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, July 11, from 7–9 PM. by @jadamcalileyart

“Grown Folks Business” 48x60in oil, spray paint, acrylic on canvas. This was from Fall semester sophomore year and is a work within my family reunion series. by @jadamcalileyart

At Scout Art Fair, Jada McAliley (@jadamcalileyart ) shared how her work draws inspiration from annual family reunions — capturing moments, relationships, and memories through vibrant color and layered storytelling. Her booth feels both personal and familiar, turning everyday family moments into something archival and alive.
