Today, as we close out Black History Month, I’m filled with gratitude and pride knowing that in less than 4 years, I’ll be part of the 3% of Black dentists in the U.S., and I look forward to paving the way for future generations, one smile at a time.

As a first-year dental student, I’m in awe of how far God has brought me. This journey hasn’t been easy, but I truly believe if I can do it, anyone can. With faith, discipline, and a dream, anything is possible. If you’re currently embarking on your own journey, I pray this post motivates you to keep going, even when the road gets tough.

Follow me as I take you through the raw, unfiltered journey of dental school — the struggles, the triumphs, and everything in between.

Gingy bear, you were the sweetest soul and the best companion I could have ever asked for. Rescuing you six years ago was one of the greatest blessings of my life. Thank you for your unconditional love, your loyalty, and for always being by my side. My heart is broken, and I will miss you every single day. ❤️ by @jadarobin

This past weekend at the DARKcon Dental Conference was truly an unforgettable experience! I gained valuable insight into the many paths within the dental profession and had the pleasure of connecting with some amazing, inspiring individuals. Being surrounded by such greatness was a true blessing.

As I head into my D2 year, I’m feeling more motivated and inspired than ever to become the best dentist I can be. This wasn’t just a conference, it was a life-changing moment in my journey.

Sending a heartfelt thank you to everyone at DARKcon who made this experience possible! 🦷✨

Years of late nights, setbacks, and sacrifices led to this moment, my first STAB LAB as a dental student! 🦷💉 It took what feels like so long to get here, but I kept showing up, kept believing and never let go of the dream. This is only the beginning…

What did I do:
- Incisal Papilla/Palatal infiltration
- Buccal infiltration #14
- Inferior alveolar nerve block
- Mental Block

To those currently on your journey to dental school, I pray this inspires you to keep going. Your moment is coming. 🙏🏽
