Dance Away The Pain, reimagined…

(Credits correction, Instrumental co-composers: Daniel Zebouni & Ralph Dabaghi)

Let me take you back two years, to when Karim reached out saying he was working on his senior film and needed two original songs. One of them had to be tango-inspired — something I’d never really done before. At first, I wasn’t sure how to approach it. But then I sat at my friend’s piano, hit record, and let whatever wanted to come out… come out. Two minutes and six seconds later, the melody for Dance Away the Pain was born.

On the way home, the words started forming. The title came to me — Dance Away the Pain — and it just made sense.

This song became more than a film project. It became something symbolic to me. It’s a fight — but make it art.
Your creativity becomes both your shield and your sword.
It’s how you cope.
How you quiet the chaos in your head.
How you keep standing, knowing that either you or the pain has to go — because you can’t both live in the same space.

And I believe Jad portrayed that fight perfectly.
Yes, he was dancing alone — but that’s the point. The pain isn’t something you can face head-on. It lives inside you. And the battle is internal.

As long as there’s strength in you, you keep dancing.

A special thanks to the amazing team that helped bring this song to life — Patrick and Daniel for always understanding my vision and bringing it to life, Karim for your direction and trust, Jad for your exceptional performance, and @ghantousgio for your help.

Dance Away the Pain is what it is today because of your incredible talent and dedication.

Thank you for your continuous support on my journey. Love you all 🫶
