Jade joins 155 changemakers from 64 countries and territories across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States whose work spans government, business, and civil society.

Jade’s leadership spans grassroots organizing, policy, climate justice, and storytelling. In addition to leading content and community at Indigenous House, she previously co-founded EJ Agency, directing nearly $100M in climate and infrastructure funding into underserved communities through the passage of policies; served on the first-ever White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council; developed strategy for the appointment of Deb Haaland to the U.S. Cabinet; and served as Native American Engagement Director for the Harris–Walz campaign.

Through the six-month Obama Foundation Leaders program, Jade will join changemakers committed to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.

We’re so proud to see Jade representing Indigenous House in this incredible cohort. Congratulations, Jade! 💚 by @jadebegay

Deeply honored to be named one of 90 voices shifting culture in @theshiftison ’s inaugural issue—a tribute to the legendary Gloria Steinem @gloriasteinem and her 91 years of activism. I’m especially proud to bring some Native visibility to this powerful lineup, alongside sis @quannah.rose 🪶

My work as an advocate, strategist, and impact producer isn’t just about making noise—it’s about rewriting the rules, disrupting the status quo, and building systems that reflect and center the brilliance of our communities. From building climate solutions to defending Indigenous and human rights, I’m here to shift policy, culture, and everything in between.

The shift isn’t coming—it’s already here. Let’s keep shaking things up, ladies. ✊🏽🌎 #TheShiftIsOn by @jadebegay

Name a Native woman in politics.

Who came to mind?

At the Native Power Building Summit, we heard names from history, names making history today, and names you might never see in a headline.

Native political leadership isn't limited to Congress or state capitols. It's happening on Tribal Councils, school boards, city councils, and throughout communities across Indian Country.

These leaders remind us that Native women's political leadership has a long history and takes many forms.

Let's make the list even longer: Who's a Native woman in politics you think more people should know about? by @jadebegay

@nytimes , you wanna investigate something actually worth our time ? Two words: Jill Stein. by @jadebegay

What's your voting ritual? 🗳️

Voting early to beat the Election Day lines?
Sitting down with your ballot and researching every race?
Going to vote with your family, friends, or community?
Or heading to the polls on Election Day because you love the experience of casting your ballot in person?

At the Native Power Building Summit, we asked people how they like to vote — and almost no two answers were the same. For many of us, voting comes with traditions, memories, and people who make the experience meaningful.

So tell us: What's your voting ritual?

Spoiler alert : Native men will build entire orgs, institutions, campaigns, careers and clout off the labor of Native women (hell, women period!) and then preach a narrative that they believe in “matriarchy” but when it comes time to actually support our rise in power or to back us up in our own leadership journeys… they nowhere to be seen. by @jadebegay
