One thing about Jádeficial? We will give you an outfit you’ll actually reuse. 🤭 When my client reached out, she sent me an inspo and said, “This is what I want.” I said, okayyy, but how about we make it even better? 👀 She had lace, so instead of making everything into one dress, I suggested we make the skirt separately, and the top and sleeves separately. That way, she could wear everything together and still have pieces she could style with other outfits. And this client? She always gives me creative freedom. She’s literally like, “Do whatever you want, I’m fine with it.” 😭😂 And I LOVE that for me! The original inspo was just a dress, but I knew we could do more with it. So we elevated it, made it more versatile and, honestly, made it even more beautiful 🥹 She doesn’t really like corsets, but I told her, “Don’t worry, you’ll wear this one and you’ll look snatched.” 😂 And she did! She got SO many compliments, and I was actually at the event with her, so I got to experience everything firsthand. Watching her smile, seeing how confident she felt, and then having people come up to me like, “Oh, I heard the dress is from your brand. It’s so beautiful!” 😭😭 Please, I was just there feeling myself. 😂 Like yes ooo, the Jádeficial girlies are outside serving! 😌 And this is exactly why I always say your outfit should give you rewear value. Almost everything on our page that looks like one complete outfit can be styled in different ways. We want you to get your money’s worth and be able to wear your pieces again and again. She said, “I just want a really pretty pink dress for a milestone I’m celebrating.” ✨ And we said, okay, say no more. Then this woman went ahead to say, “Feranmi, just do your thing. Anything you come up with is fine.” Me: “Are you sure?” 👀 Her: “YES.” Ah. So you have decided to put your life in our hands 😭😂 Now, the shade of pink she wanted? Not exactly a shade you see everywhere, so finding the perfect lining was giving “Lord, take the wheel.” 😭 At some point, we even had to switch things up because I was like… no, this dress needs to be MORE 😂 Then we found the perfect shades, put the colours together, and she goes, “I love the contrast!” And I said, Oh? So we’re cooking 👩🏽‍🍳 Fast forward to the finished dress and???? PINK IS HER COLOUR, ABEG. 😭🎀 She was GLOWING. Like, glowing glowing ✨ This is exactly why we love when our clients trust us to do our thing 🥹💕 Thank you so much for trusting Jádeficial to be part of such a beautiful milestone, sweet customer. There are some projects you finish and simply feel proud of. And then there are projects that remind you why you started 🥹💜 This dress will always be special to me because, more than anything, it was built on trust. She came to me with an inspiration, and trusted me to create my own interpretation of it. She wasn’t even in Nigeria. I didn’t take her measurements myself, she simply sent them to me and trusted me to make it work. And this wasn’t just any dress. It was a corset dress with ostrich feathers that had to be sewn onto the dress, not simply placed on it. From figuring out the construction, calculating how much feather we needed, working through the pricing, making adjustments, and going back and forth until everything made sense… there was a LOT of critical thinking behind this piece. And honestly, being relatively fresh out of fashion school and having someone trust me with a project this big meant so much to me. There were moments I questioned how we were going to pull it all together, but seeing the finished dress made every single bit of the process worth it 🥹 And the best part? She loved it ❤️ She called afterwards to tell me how much she loved the dress and how many compliments she received. Hearing that after everything we put into this piece was such a beautiful feeling. So this one is more than just a dress to me. It is a reminder that sometimes someone else’s belief in your ability can make you believe in yourself even more.
