With all the conversations surrounding the sudden death of Nate Lim in our dear Born To Shine, I find myself reflecting on the incredible work that goes into bringing this show to life every day.

When we all learned about Nate’s death, we were just as shocked as everyone else. Kami ni Direk Rod Marmol, super gulat sa meeting. Same with the whole prod. Pero it is what it is, and we take it as a challenge—and an opportunity—to bring out the best in the situation.

And what stood out to me most in this chapter was the incredible work of our actors.

Michael Sager, in particular, gave what I believe was one of his finest performances on our show! Like, may sepanx kasi bakit ngayon lang kami nagkaroon ng ganitong actor-director moment ni Michael?? 🥺🫠 Watching him bring Nate’s final moments to life with so much sincerity and emotion was truly something to witness.

And of course, the heart-wrenching performances of Roselle Nava as Monica and Zephanie as Jeni, whom I’ve always had the pleasure of guiding and directing. Pero ibang level yung kinasa namin for these scenes—and ibang klase din sila. Malala. ❤️‍🔥🔥

Their performances carried so much weight. You could feel the love, the pain, and the loss, even in moments when words weren’t necessary.

And oh, the scenes that come later are waaaay more devastating. They’re still lingering with me days after we wrapped. Some scenes really stay with you long after the cameras stop rolling.

And may I just say, Jade Lopez is showing us what a true StarStruck girl is made of! What a powerful performance. If only I could share all the cut moments, because even after “cut,” they’re still completely in character. That kind of commitment is something special. 🙌👏

Beyond the twists and turns of the story, I’m simply grateful for this team—our actors, directors, writers, production team, and everyone behind the scenes who continues to give their heart to this show.

I’m excited to see where this new chapter takes us. And I hope everyone continues to journey with Jeni, to feel with her, and to discover what comes next.

Her story isn’t over yet. ❤️
