hong hong hong kong kong kong (aprm 2026)

with aprm 2026 closing last july 4, I can’t help but look back on the event with such sentimentality. the days may have been long and the legs may be sore but I would not hesitate to go through this whole experience again. i would love to thank the following people who made this event extra special.

to my fellow scorpions, thank you for being some of my first friends for aprm! everyone’s open-mindedness and warmth made every session insightful and informative. it really helped me actualize what I can do moving forward to be more involved in projects related to human rights and peace. special thanks to the session team (zeli, hiba, patharvi, victor, puja) for being wonderful facilitators!! it was special seeing your expertise and plans in full display through the sessions.

to the aprm oc, congrats on successfully hosting this event! thank you for the endless hospitality and patience; exploring and getting to know your home wouldn’t have been as easy without you.

to tok and nam my fave gym bros, our various random side quests together added flavor to days that could have been uninteresting. from the karaoke session to the impromptu midnight world cup watch parties, thank you for including me in your plans 🙂‍↕️

to kelly and yu, it was great getting to bond with you through our post-aprm activities :>> it made the journey extra special getting to share these memories with you guys!

to ian, thank you for always being down to go along with the most random hi-jinx i come up with every night. every taxi ride and phone call will be remembered fondly.

to all my fellow delegates, let’s always keep in touch!! never be a stranger 😎 taken in The University of Hong Kong by @jadencoen

If 2023 was the endless pursuit of love, my 2024 was the “tireless search for myself”.

Without sugarcoating anything, 2024 was a super tough year. All my subjects got much harder, I felt lost a lot of the time, and I pushed myself to the limit. With all these challenges thrown my way, I experienced a lot of lows (more than I can count in my two hands). But… I learned a lot in the past year.

I’ve discovered more about what I truly love, what I can do, and what problems I still need to fix. I’ve relearned who I was and who I want to be in the future. And these would not have happened if I stayed complacent this past year.

For this new year, I hope I will continue to unlock more parts of myself and share these parts to you. Cause where’s the fun in exploring alone, if I can do it with those who truly matter? Let’s go 2025! Bring it on. by @jadencoen

2023 can be summarized into one phrase: “the endless pursuit of love”

Whether that be platonic love, academic love, romantic love (huy), love for social action, love for the sciences, etc., I’ve been so lucky that I’ve been able explore and continue to pursue love despite the many difficulties. To everyone who was part of my 2023, you will have my eternal gratitude; you have changed me for the better.

2024 you’ve got a lot of expectations to live up to, you better not disappoint!! by @jadencoen

happiness was found in the journey

When I first read about the theme of ISYF, I thought that it was very metaphysical and vague. How can an event make me look ahead to a better future when the present seems so grim and sorrowful? How can this help me reconnect with the people around me? How can it help me reimagine my world? But as the final hour of the whole 5-day program struck, I reflected and fucking realized that they somehow pulled it off.

For me (and many others delegates), ISYF was a catalyst. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me understand who I was as a person, and who I can be in the future. It launched me into different parts of science I never even knew existed. It made me find a new purpose in perspective through all the mess that I would like to call "life”. I know so far, all of this may sound very philosophical and patronizing, but I am being very honest when I say that this event was nothing short of a miracle in my life.

Thank you co-chairs (Huan Yu and Keng How) for inviting my school and giving me and many others this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thank you Xingyu, Catherine, Tianyi, and Orton, for being amazing facilitators and guiding us through this event. Also thank you for matching my groups vibes, and making everything feel very lively.

Thank you Cysteine for making me feel included and loved. Thank you for the crazy moments, and the somber moments, they changed me for the better. Cheers to more tea party.

Thank you also to the following, cause even though you guys were not part of my group, you had a hand in making this event mean so much to me.

JX, Rebecca, Kai, Rebecca, Emilia, Arturo, Safiyah, Ruby, Anthea, Keiysha, Peng Yee, Xuan, Yinwen. Even though you were not part of my group, thank you being my friends. I will always cherish every single one of you.

Let's always stay connected everyone 😍

P. S. : Cant tag everyone send help plss
