“The Best Friend Who Won’t Let You Fall Apart” 😇

It was such an honor to shoot this with one of my best friends, @therealthaliaromina ! 💛

Last year, I realized I let my art get away from me, and I wasn’t feeling like much of a creative. I felt lost as an artist and questioned whether I even still felt like a “real” actor. 🥺💔

My soul was craving community and connection, and ironically enough, Thalia did not let me fall apart 😂. She was one of the people who led me back to myself. She constantly reminded me that it never went away. It was still in me, I just had to literally ACT 🎭 on it.

I’m grateful to have a best friend who is always in my corner, rooting for me, and ready to star in anything with me that gets the ball rolling again. I love you, sis. 💖

Three weeks of sharing my work, and I’ve been reflecting on how grateful I am to be an artist. 🥹🎭 To create, collaborate, tell stories, feel deeply, and step into someone else’s shoes, even if only for a moment.

But I believe the empathy we celebrate through art should extend far beyond it. I believe in humanity, dignity, equality, justice, and accountability, and in making space for voices that deserve to be heard, even when the conversations are uncomfortable.

I’m an artist who believes in artists for change. I don’t see a world where art and justice exist separately, because at the center of both is humanity. 🤍💟

I’ve found so much inspiration in artists and creators like Macklemore, Ms. Rachel, and Melissa Barrera, who have continued to speak up for what they believe in even while facing backlash and, in some cases, professional consequences.

They’ve reminded me of something I want to carry throughout my own career: if you stand for nothing, you can fall for anything‼️

There is power in standing your ground, in knowing what you value, and refusing to abandon it simply because staying quiet might be easier, safer, or “better for business.”

And if standing by my values means some opportunities aren’t meant for me, I can live with that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The world can be a heavy place, but I hope we never become so accustomed to its heaviness that we stop caring for one another.

Here’s to creating with empathy, standing for something, and never losing sight of the humanity behind it all. 💛✨

I identify mainly as Puerto Rican, because that is the culture I grew up with, but I’m also Hawaiian, French and Indian. Getting in touch with my Taino Indian side this trip has made me feel more whole. The Native’s here, both Navajo and Hopi have been so welcoming and being on their native land, their nation, has given me a deeper gratitude for who I am. I made a friend at a native market named Simon, and he gifted me a pendant with opalite, arrows, and an eagle. He said it represents strength and friendship. He just felt like I needed it and wanted me to have it. I was so touched by his gesture, because this man felt like a brother to me. He looked into my soul during a brief conversation and saw me for who I was. He gifted me something handmade with love that he planned on selling, because that is how he makes a living. He gave me a piece of him for free. *

Many of you might not be aware that I’m psychic and have abilities. I’m a spiritual person who is still discovering how to identify myself fully. My family has been involved in Santeria and growing up I know that my “religious parents,” are Indians as well. I bought some handmade native pieces to put onto my spiritual altar, that I’m starting again at home. It has been almost 10 years since I got in touch with this side of me. It has been 10 years since I truly felt like myself. This was the first trip I’ve taken for my mental health. I’ve wanted to cry tears of joy every day, because I forgot what this pure joy felt like. I forgot what it was like to put myself first. I’ve seen the angel numbers 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, & 1222 every single day on this trip. Multiple times a day. Confirmation that self-love and ME, MYSELF & I have to come FIRST. That change is GOOD. It is NEEDED for growth. I’m so grateful and thankful to have been here in Flagstaff, Page and Sedona, Arizona. This photo is in the Grand Canyon. It’s safe to say the view speaks for itself. If you haven’t gone back to your roots lately, if you haven’t gotten in touch with nature, I HIGHLY encourage you to do so. When is the last time YOU took a step back from your daily routine and fed your soul? *
