POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I haven’t done an introduction post since I first started this account, so I thought it was time to reintroduce myself to all you lovely people 💚

It was also an opportunity to change up my style a little bit as I kept hitting creative blocks, which started to make posting feel like a chore. I still love the scrapbook/collage style put I wanted to incorporate more of what I love and what reflects my taste. Hope you like it!

💭 Do we share any favourites or things to yap about?

I feel so grateful to @aardvarkbookclubuk for reaching out and offering to send me one of their FIRST EVER book club boxes!

In the UK, we have very slim pickings when it comes to book subscription boxes so I was so glad to hear that Aardvark were running a UK book club too!

Books received:
Kiss Slay Replay by Rachel Harrison 🔪👰🏼‍♀️
(I have heard of this author but have not read any of her novels yet! I do like a good time loop story so I’m excited for this one.)

Bodies of Magic by Freya Marske ⚰️🏫
(This book was not on my radar at all but it sounds super interesting! I love a good murder mystery and this one is FANTASY!)

They also had some other fantastic pics for this month. Please go check them out, they have a special offer on now where you can get your first book for £8.99! Just use the code LAUNCH 🚀

Does anyone else compile a list of media (not just books) to consume throughout October?
If I see what looks like a great horror film, or spooky book, or eerie tv show, I tend to save them to watch/read around Halloween time.

So, for anyone else currently looking for things to read or watch that fit this season so well - here you are!
My personally recommended books, films and tv shows for spooky season!

As a gal who works in education, September has been crazy. I’ve not read as much as I’d have liked but that’s okay!

I didn’t have any major duds this month, but I did have two 5-star predictions turn out not to be 5 stars, which is a shame ☹️

I’m so excited for October and all the darker, spookier reads that will come! 🎃🧛🏻‍♂️👻

It’s ridiculous how long this post took me to make. I kept leaving it and coming back to because it just didn’t LOOK RIGHT. But, with a little perseverance, I got there in the end!

I’ve been seeing this fun little trend going around and, as usual, I wanted to have a go!

And I don’t want to hear anyone saying that choosing Jade Legacy was cheating pls 🤣

💭 Have you done this trend yet? What would you choose for your name?

My favourite time of year is finally here! The “ber” months.

To me, autumn starts on the first day of September. I’m ready for chunky knitwear, orange and brown leaves, warm drinks and plenty of reading. As a mood reader, I have a very particular idea of what I’d like to read at this time of year and it’s more about the vibes of a book and how it’ll make me feel. There are some books that are just perfect for autumn!

Whatever your vibe this September, I have put together some personal recommendations that will hopefully help you choose your next read (if you haven’t read these already!)

💭 what kind of vibe do you look for in a September read?

And just like that, summer is over (yes, I count 1st September as the start of autumn). To be honest with you, I had a pretty quiet August. I feel like packed so much between April - July that I just needed to rest 😅

I managed to read 4 books and am currently in the middle of Jasad Crown and Portrait of a Witch Undone.

💭 How many books did you read in August? Which was your favourite?

Wanted to hop on this trend because it looked so fun! Luckily, I have plenty of books that I don’t shut up about or couldn’t put down, so I had to whittle it down to a few otherwise this post would be 263740325 slides long.

💭 What is a popular book you will never read and why?
Mine is A Little Life. People really love it and I just know in my gut that I will despise it so I just steer clear. I’m interested to see what you guys say!

If there’s one thing I love, it’s knowing people’s Letterboxd 4 🤪

So, of course, when I saw this trend I knew I had to give it a go!

Thank you to @netgalley @duttonbooks and De Elizabeth for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

She Haunts Me Still
De Elizabeth
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Set in the late 1990s, 19 year old Mallory Webb starts at Shore College, a former sanitarium-turned-liberal arts university, to major in theatre. Mallory is what is referred to as a “legacy student”, meaning her ancestors also attended the college and she has a close, personal history with the institution. Mallory finds herself cast as the female lead in the college’s production of Romeo and Juliet, a dream role for many of the budding actresses there. Timing could not be worse, however, when her dark past begins to catch up with her. A mysterious woman who haunted Mallory’s mother in the lead-up to her death begins appearing to Mallory, and she is terrifying. With the help of Ezra Pierce, a fourth-year and director of the play, Mallory begins to investigate who this woman is, what she wants, and how she is connected to Mallory’s mother. However, nothing is as it seems and there is more at play than a simple haunting. Along with Ezra and a mysterious white-haired girl named Saskia, Mallory races to find answers before she ends up dead like her mother.

I would definitely recommend this to any reader who loves gothic vibes, supernatural mystery, hauntings, fantasy/ gothic romance, and characters with a dark past.

July has absolutely flown by! I started the month off on a high, holidaying with my boyfriend’s family. I had a few disappointing reads, which is a shame, but I’m slowly working my way through Jasad Crown and Circe and am liking them both (luckily)! Outside of reading, I’ve been playing cosy games and making my way through Interview with the Vampire tv series!

💭 What was your favourite read of July?

Does anyone recall at the start of the year when I set a goal to read more books physically? HAHAHAHHA that was so funny of me, bless me

I know this is sooooo late but I’ve just eliminated any July reads from this recap. It’s nice to reflect on my reading so far this year and remember some of these amazing books! I have found a new auto-buy author and have started some great new series. I can’t wait to see where the second half of 2026 takes me!

💭 What has been your favourite read of 2026 so far?
