The Lord did so many wonderful things in just a week in this country. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work with these kids. Just seeing the smile on their faces when saying hi or giving them a piece of candy was all I needed. My heart goes out to each and every local who told me their story. It helped me realize that things can look okay on the outside, but everyone you meet has some type of need. Above all, God really taught me the importance of generosity this trip. Seeing the people in El Salvador with next to nothing give us their little toys and trinkets shows how much they are willing to give just to make someone else happy. That was my goal all week.

I am also incredibly thankful for our interns and nationals, who not only poured out spiritually but also strived to connect emotionally with our group. Getting that close to someone in a week is really unheard of, but I couldn’t be more thankful for our interns and our nationals. Though some of our nationals didn’t even speak the same language as us, connections are much more than words, and sometimes a smile or a laugh is all we needed to keep each other going. I will miss this team immensely and I can’t wait to see some of you again! by @jadyn_brubaker
