The wait is over! 🎊🎟️
Crongton is NOW available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three from March 24 (TODAYYY)!

Crongton is a tv series based off the Crongton books written by @alexwheatle RIP
Was beautiful to see the show with all my cast mates and everyone who made the show so special and to see the legacy that Alex has left behind. He even had a cameo in the show and his family joined us to watch it. It felt like a very special moment.

Massive thank you to @aishabywaterscasting @aguadecocogirl and @archiemaddocks for trusting me to bring NESTA to life.

Brother’s Keeper has officially been Arts Council Funded towards an R&D‼️🎉🎉🎉 Aye you see God yeah…hmph.

After years of not paying ourselves properly, putting on the show twice with barely any budget, and long applications we finally got some p’sssss🤑🤑🤑

On a serious note tho I’m v proud of this project and the team making this happen fr. This play has gone through so many lives, from Theatre Peckham stages, to Hackney Empire Galas, to London Palladium Arenas and now we’ve got some money and time to really refine it and make sure it’s the best possible version of the play for WHEN we come back.

Thank you to the big boss @God himself. Doing His ting for me this past year. It’s been a crazy year and I have to give thanks to the Him always above all.

Special shout out to our champion @jadeysamuels86 for believing in us and working on our application with us.

Thank you to @brxhousetheatre for giving us the space and time to deliver this R&D and just being a home for us as artists to break rules and create art.

And of course thank you to @aceagrams for the opportunity for us to now REALLYYY DREAM BIGGER than we ever could have before, by using this funding. You’ll be seeing our name on more applications soon.

And thank you to @theatrepeckham for being the home for where it started. Genuinely being the space for origin of BK has meant a lot. Thank you❤️

The R&D begins and the Brother’s Keeper Legacy continues.

MORE BLESSINGS. MORE LOVE. MORE LIFE. ❤️

One Year Down…We Are Just Getting Started🫡‼️

I’ll be so real even writing this is an emotional one cah somehow turning an idea between a group of brothers into something bigger than any of us could’ve imagined has managed to already be a powerhouse in our community.

So more than anything, we just want to say thank you.
To every person who has bought a ticket, sat in an audience, shared a post, come to a workshop, performed alongside us, collaborated with us, opened a door for us, trusted us with an opportunity, sent an encouraging message or simply told somebody else about what we’re building. Bmt thank you maynnn

In just one year, you’ve allowed us to dream bigger than we did when we started and somehow it still feels like we’re only on page one.

So here’s to the first year.
To everyone who has been part of the story so far, this house belongs to you too.

Happy 1st Birthday, House of VOX. 🏠🖤
Year Two… yeahhh it’s about to get VOXYYYYY

Actor. Poet. Anime enthusiast.
Ghana boy 🇬🇭
And the only person who could probably turn up to Carnival in a pair of Timbs and somehow make it make sense.

If Jae isn’t on stage, he’s probably talking about Seven Deadly Sins or saying something that only makes sense once you’ve known him long enough. 😭

But underneath all the jokes is one of the House’s most thoughtful creatives.

Mr “come and see for yourself.”

One year of the House means celebrating the people who make it what it is.

And there is genuinely only one Jae.

🎟️ Come meet the whole House at our One Year Anniversary.

SYMPATHY 4 THE MANDEM 🤝🏾

I just wanna take a moment and say thank you to GOD and everything he has done for me this year. 2024 what a wow

Wanna start off the year with a poem and project I’m hella proud of. If you told me I’d be a poet a year ago I’d even say you was tripping but a year later here I am falling in love the the art of words (bare cheesy but mind your business)

In this poem I want to shed some light on the challenges that some men face especially when it comes to mental health and societal expectations. I highlight how men are often judged harshly for their actions or perceived weaknesses, and how this can lead to a cycle of isolation and self-doubt. I also touch on the alarming statistics around suicide and the need for more support and compassion for men in our society.

Thank you to @culturecanvaslondon for the platform to perform

One year ago, House of Vox was just an idea.

Since then, we’ve performed, created, taught, built, laughed, argued, experimented, got things wrong, got things VERY right - and somehow built a House along the way. 🏠

So this isn’t just another event.

September 12th is us celebrating everything it took to get here - and everyone who helped us build it.

The poems.
The people.
The memories.
The stories that built us.

Sel said it best… now all that’s missing is you. 💜

Tomorrow, we take over @hackneyempire 🤯. For those that don’t want to know the story, skip to the bottom for promo code🤫

We’re proud to be supporting our brother @selorm.official and his powerful production, Brother’s Keeper. Working with @thehustle.uk has been a pleasure - ups and downs of any HUGE project (iykyk) but we’ve made it to the penultimate night and tomorrow we blast off to a new level ‼️💐

The setlist is INCREDIBLE:
@bigscoop_
@chloe_carterr
@neyya_
@taylorddacosta
@oronti
@riosterling_
@sulibreaks
@senxemusic101

But this is bigger than a show.

This is about community.

This is about celebrating Black boys, Black British music, dance, brotherhood, masculinity and vulnerability. It’s about creating spaces where our stories can be told, where healing and joy can exist side by side, and where culture brings us together.

Tomorrow marks a landmark moment for both The Hustle CIC and House of Vox CIC. So much has happened over the last year that we’re incredibly proud of, but none of it happens without the community that has supported us every step of the way.

This is our final call.

We want you in the room.

🎟 Use promo code BKLGFLASH when booking, or reach out to the team directly and we’ll do our best to support.

See you tomorrow.

❤️
