Getting hard + soft out here in LA, installing a new Meow Wolf show is hard work but I’m stronger for it and I’m giving myself extra rest.

“Dipped Vape Triangle” by Jaelah Kuehmichel
11 x 5 x 5.5” mixed media sculpture
2026 SOLD

When you need to transform your relationship to an object or a behavior pattern, try using a new perspective and getting absurd with it… comedy and beauty can make for great distractions from habits you’re ready to move away from.

“Cosmic” by Jaelah Kuehmichel
36 x 28” spray paint on paper 2025
Sold

I took this beautiful silky black paper with me all the way to the farmland and fields in the south of France outside Toulouse. At the @potteryfarmgallery artist residency I spent 2 weeks starting a fresh batch of work, paintings on paper and on loosely rolled canvas. With this amazing high vis paint I found myself going minimal, relying on intuition and experimentation… sometimes less is more, sometimes a plan just gets in the way. These dreamy and cosmic pieces emerged from that spaciousness in me. I was away from my work back home, my life, my friends and loved ones… I was in an extremely remote and spookily quiet area where in the stillness of it all I could feel the land and the trees and the yellow petals of the sunflowers slowly turning with the shade as the bats began to emerge in the twilight hours. We are all connected to land and sky, earth and cosmos. Let’s not forget it. Let’s protect it.

“Hit the Gas” 25 x 24” mixed media painting on wood panel by Jaelah Kuehmichel 2026

Inspired by Tamara de Lempicka’s 1929 “Autoportrait” a self portrait driving a green sports car with a dramatic scarf flapping in the wind behind her. I always wanted to be a part of the roaring 20’s… and we all are! The 2020s have been just as absurd and wild…

“Moody Triptych” by Jaelah Kuehmichel
27 x 25 x 1” mixed media on canvas on wood 2026

The first brushstrokes began in Europe the summer of 2025 during a residency stay, inspired by the cool blue grays of the canal city of Amsterdam where I first landed, contrasted by the bright burning sunflowers of the South of France stretching for water in the hottest days of summer. Completed in the crisp high dessert mountain air of Santa Fe, New Mexico this floating triptych with hanging orange acrylic cutout is a lilting emotional poem to the tides of travel and self discovery on your way back home.

Dm for inquiries.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Just Jaelah my art show this past weekend. It was a precious moment of completion and connection. Thank you @bettybenedeadly for the psychedelic western tunes + land line telephone performance voodoo. I’m especially grateful to all my collectors who took a piece of me home with them and will steward my babies into the future- I hope you enjoy.

If you didn’t get a chance to come by and you want to see everything in person, dm me for a time to check it out!
Love you Santa Fe 🥰🙏😁
