Every space begins with an idea.

For Bhumi Lingsir, that idea begins with a question:
Are the choices placed before us truly the right ones?
Through architecture, materiality, spatial experience, and landscape, the installation invites reflection on the decisions that shape our journey through life.

Insights from Ar. Jafni Zul Fahmi, IAI @jafnizulfahmi (Nawangseta) and Nicholas Roman Longfellow @harmlessgames (Living Designs Bali) offer a deeper reading of the narrative, material, spatial journey, and landscape that define Bhumi Lingsir.

Experience Bhumi Lingsir at JIA CURATED 2026 ( @jia.curated ).

This spatial composition is inspired by the Balinese cosmic plan, a spatial philosophy where architecture is guided by the balance of the cardinal directions, sacred diagonals, and the center as the origin of life.

Rather than creating an object, I sought to translate an invisible cosmology into a physical experience, where every axis carries meaning and every intersection becomes a place of balance.

Experience it in person at @jia.curated 2026, and discover how an ancient cosmology can be reimagined as a contemporary architectural journey.

Lately we’ve been so obsessed with perfecting our swing shapes that we’ve stopped caring where the ball actually goes. Then we end up teaching each other like the blind leading the blind 😅 taken in Bali International Golf by @jafnizulfahmi

From Sanur to Ubud, the journey of Seta Coffee has always been more than just about coffee. It’s about crafting an experience about space, atmosphere, and design become part of every sip.

As Seta grows, the challenge is clear, how do we evolve while staying true to its DNA? At Ubud, we translate the same soul into a new context keeping the essence, while embracing a different story.

Because great coffee deserves a space that speaks just as loud.

Reimagining space, reconnecting with nature

Introducing Elephant Lounge, a collaborative design project by @nawangseta x @balizoo, where architecture becomes a medium for knowledge sharing and education

Originally a horse stable, this building has been thoughtfully restored into a warm, inviting lounge that now supports an educational program about elephants. The transformation celebrates not just function, but also purpose.

One of the highlights? Our use of sustainable materials including wall finishes and partition papers made from elephant dung. Yes, really.

Elephant dung wall is created by processing the fibrous remains of plants that elephants digest. Since their digestion is not very efficient, the leftover fibers can be cleaned, treated, and turned into strong, textured wall, reducing waste while creating something beautiful and functional.

This project is a reminder that good design is not just about aesthetics, it’s about storytelling, sustainability, and giving existing structures a new life.

Behind the Studio - Ar. Jafni Zul Fahmi, S. T.

Nawangseta was founded by Jafni in 2020, during one of the most challenging times of our era. After resigning from OdDS (Objek dan Design Space), formerly VX Design Singapore, a Singapore based Architect Firm, Jafni decided to return home and build a studio of his own, right in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Driven by resilience and conviction, Jafni shaped Nawangseta with a clear vision: architecture must have a story. For him, a building is more than form, it is about how people move through it, how space unfolds, and how every sequence creates meaning. He believes that architecture should speak, not through words, but through cohesive spatial experiences that stay with people long after they leave.

Today, that philosophy continues to guide Nawangseta grounding every design in narrative, intention, and human experience.
