So this month's episode of Jaggery Radio is really special y'all. I will be featuring the very radiant @mayonnnnnn_ to be on the show today evening at 7PM EST. Mayon is so special to our community and is such a light to the world; I hope y'all can tune in to hear more about Mayon as an artist, how I came to connect with their beautiful spirit, and hear their carefully curated mix. Mayon reminds us during this mix, that there is power in music and archive curation--they show us that awareness can be spread through sound, and resistance in music is very real and alive. by @jaggeryradio

For this episode of Jaggery Radio on @jerome_sound FM, Nishévitha navigates soulful depth. With a singular, ambient mix Nishévitha aims to transcend time and different expressions of feeling throughout multiple generations of RnB, Soul, and Jazz, and World music. She features cuts like “I Loves You, Porgy” by Nina Simone, an Indian classical Veena rendition of ragam Desh, and finishes off the mix with some deconstructed club fused into Warda’s notorious “Al Basata”. She hopes listeners indulge in beauty this month. by @jaggeryradio

This episode of Jaggery Radio on @jerome_sound invites Queen and icon @zaida.zane ❤️ A pillar of club culture in Atlanta and abroad, Zaida has a prolific footprint within club music. Check her mix out tomorrow at 7PM. This episode is also really special to me because I’ve followed @clubmorph and seen them take over—and have personally experienced on of Zaida’s earlier sets in Atlanta. So this is me dreaming big and taking myself and Jaggery Radio a bit more seriously. Jaggery Radio has been a big part of my journey as a DJ and artist, and occupies such a huge space in my heart. I have begun a residency on @jerome_sound and thought this would be a lovely moment to start this account to share future episodes of Jaggery Radio. I'm trying to take a break from social media, so this will be a way of sharing episodes and info about my series and who I will be featuring to my loved ones and friends. Sending love to all of you, and hope you continue to have a great summer. by @jaggeryradio

My next guest for Jaggery Radio is the phenomenal @callme_byna ❤️ I sat down with DJ Byna to understand who she is and what inspired her to get into production and DJing in the first place, and what sustains her in the production world today. Hailing from the great Broward county in South Florida, Byna was initiated into the world of music when she was quite young; her father would play good music every Friday and Saturday night, prompting her love for listening to it on her own. In the early 2010’s Byna’s initial observation around the heavy presence of male DJ’s within the DJ/production ecosystem led her to kickstart her own DJ career; she downloaded Virtual DJ, started making mixes, and started producing in due time.

Her foray into production began with R&B and hip-hop beat production with FL Studio. She very quickly came across Jersey Club music—it all started with a DJ Taj/ Young Phoenix remix of “Bish Whet” sampling from Toni Romiti’s viral Vine. Byna made a remix of this remix and still has it up SoundCloud 10 years later— a testament to her passion and evolution as a producer. Byna has made a significant name for herself by continuing to make Jersey Club—while diving into iconic SoFlo Jook sound in the footsteps of folks like @fwea.go.jit , @djjam305 , DJ Schreach, @treohfie , and @shescreams_miren. Being a Florida native, she felt it was only natural that she become well versed in SoFlo Jook production, that predominantly uses chopped up vocal samples and sets itself apart with a heavy, hang time laden drum pattern. Tap into DJ Byna’s set on Voices Radio from 6-7PM tomorrow, October 18th.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 by @jaggeryradio

It’s a privilege to welcome @s.dotmusic as guest for this month’s episode of Jaggery Radio.

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, S.DOT has established his footprint within DJ/ Club production. S.DOT is a part of a new evolution of Baltimore club music; through his travels to South Africa and Brazil, he has adopted an Afro-house style of drum percussion and more ambient melodies for his Baltimore club sound.

S.DOT recently landed a huge placement with SerpentWithFeet, and TY Dolla $ign on their single “Damn Gloves”. He also recently released the “Aurora EP” on the infamous UK label Night Slugs with fellow club heavyweights Kade Young, CalvoMusic, and SlickGoHam. He also hosts the bi- monthly show Club Cypher Radio on Oroko Radio.

As you might know by now, etherealism and ambience within club music is something I deeply resonate with. Having produced tracks like “ R WE FRIENDS”, “GENEROUS”, and “FREEFALL”, S.Dot converted me into a lifelong enthusiast of his music and the melodies he has aimed to weave together. I can only describe this mix (equal parts thumby, bass-filled, ambient, and thoughtful) as hearty and filling–like a good meal. From S.Dot’s perspective, “it’s just a journey of what has been inspiring me lately.”

Tune in at 6PM EST this evening on Voices Radio to experience this special human spin some very special music. by @jaggeryradio

My second guest for this month’s episode of Jaggery Radio is the ever-talented @wilhelminawilhelmina22

A producer, DJ, and NJ native, WILHELMINA has made quite a name for himself within the sphere of dance and club music. For Jaggery Radio, he wanted to create a mix that was percussion heavy, peppered with deep and hypnotic moments framed by fun booty shaking moments - keeping it clubby. Channeling kulintang/gong elements in the beginning, he sprinkles some favorite old tunes with some fresh finds, and also some unreleased tracks of his own— featuring noted artists like Leod, Ovid, and Kade Young. Link in bio!😌

Note: All of Wilhelmina’s music has resonated so deeply with me. If you haven’t had a chance to check out his most recent release “SALAHILO” , you’re in for a whole treat. by @jaggeryradio

My first Jaggery Radio guest is the multi-hyphenate @wahala.wav —A co-founder of the NYC based collective @slick_down , a resident of 8 Ball Radio, an immensely talented producer, and one of the most soulful people I know, wahala.wav is a powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with. This warm, cerebral mix is a reflection of wahala’s tastemaking prowess– he starts with a moving rendition of “How Can You Say It” by Gloria Ann Taylor, and forays into house, funk, and various iterations of dance music by select producers including Jeff Mills, AceMo, and KORRĒ. Tune into Jaggery Radio tonight at 6-7AM GMT on Voices radio to listen in. Link in bio. by @jaggeryradio
