IT’S VIBING AT THE YARD!! When we’re not making props we’re snootelling around reclamation yards or flea markets. Great beats playing ‘Womp’ Sunny Human and very helpful friendly owner at The Yard - Reclamation. So much more fun than buying online ! Lovely stuff at Gloucester Road Reclamation Yard today Guaranteed to find what you’re looking for! by @jagprops
Very excited about the next show. Cardboard mock ups to check sizes are suitable before building. We’re going large people. @jennysimmonscreative happy birthday!! #christmasshow #jagprops by @jagprops
A little job earlier this summer helping stiltwalker and general performing wonder - lady Loz James with her new Dragonfly costume for the Dragonfly Festival at Slimbridge Wetlands Centre (45 days over the summer). Thanks Loz ❤️ @loz_because @wwtslimbridge @pickleprops #jagprops #dragonfly #dragonflycostume #stiltwalker #stiltwalkercostume by @jagprops
This project happened back in the summer when we were working with designer Soutra Gilmour (who I last worked with back in 2010 on Into the Woods at Regents Park Open Air Theatre). The Last Hamlet was the bold challenge taken up by Ben Duke and his company, Lost Dog. Lost Dog takes Shakespeare’s most iconic character as the starting point for a darkly comic exploration of existence, love, revenge, and the stories we can’t seem to escape - no matter how hard we try. Costume Supervisor Anna Josephs and long time collaborator Rachael Canning designed the head piece. It was another quick turn around, but a really nice project to be involved with. Thanks to the JAG team…i.e. me and Erin! #jagprops @pickleprops @thecanning @anna.j.174 @lostdogdance @sadlers_wells @aceagrams by @jagprops
We had some lovely makes for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre one making the iconic donkey head for the character ‘Bottom’. Designer Tomas Palmer And fabulous Costume Supervisor Heidi Bryan. Changes to the spec mid way when the donkey needed to be a ‘hat’ rather than an over body piece hence for a while it looked a bit of mess! It was tight but we pulled it off! Thanks to Erin my making compadre! Nadeem who played Bottom was extraordinary! I’m so pleased I went to London to see this production, made more special since my last time working there in 2010 as Head of Props! Lovely to be back in this most beautiful environment. @pickleprops @nadeemrules @marcsbrenner @tomaspalmer @regentsparkoat #jagprops #regentsparkoat #donkey #midsummersnightsdream by @jagprops
Beautiful costume design by @thecanning for the ENB’s Cinderella earlier this year and absolutely gorgeous fabrics. JAG helped with the Jester hat, Owl Wings and the fox tail. Beautiful!😻 @katietaylorcostume @lottietugwell_studios @sashabelgrave @erinawful @iv.obel Karen Dyer #jagprops #cinderella #enb by @jagprops
The pumpkin umbrella was purple and blue, then it was orange and blue. The pumpkin carriage ‘wheel’ flowers were blue with pink, then with orange, then just blue. In this line of work you can’t get fazed by changes to the artistic vision, you have to crack on, it’s part of the magical journey. Most importantly the audience loved it. Lovely design throughout by Rachael Canning 🫶. Thanks to the JAG team including @erinawful @lottietugwell_studios @iv.obel @sashabelgrave #jagprops #cinderella by @jagprops
Under Milk Wood @theatrclwyd. An absolute gorgeous show designed by Hayley Grindle. It looked incredible and the music was all folky and fabulous. It was on tour until May. The 2026 Theatr Clwyd production of Under Milk Wood, directed by Kate Wasserberg, featured an inclusive 11-strong cast including Adam Bassett, Seán Carlsen, Jacob Coleman, Amy Conachan, Mirain Fflur, Georgia Griffiths, Chandu Gopalakrishnan, Izzi McCormack-John, Macsen McKay, Caroline Parker, and Douglas Walker. We made several props for it. Death the Evans, a cuckoo clock, house lanterns and a little dress puppet. Death the Evans miniature that slots into the actor’s top hat. Of course there are no production photos and not sure it all made it into the show but it was still great to be involved. Thanks to the excellent sculpting skills of Erin, to Ivy for house work and to Lottie for mini magnet drilling and sticking ! #jagprops #theatrclwyd #undermilkwood @erinawfularts @ivobel @lottie studios Music: Oliver Vibrans Production Photo: Richard Lakos by @jagprops
