Close out your weekend with the unmistakable sound of roots reggae. Jahgun & Justifyah bring conscious lyrics, island grooves, and uplifting vibes to Reggae Sunday on August 2nd. Jahgun and The Justifyah band is led by Jahgun, a Brazilian singer, songwriter and music producer who has been living in Los Angeles since 2001. The band consists of talented musicians from all over the world who formed organically through years of playing with Jahgun and their shared love for music. Inspired by the music of their mentor, Gerson da Conceicฬงaฬƒo, and produced by Ashton Barrett jr, son of Family Man Ashton Barrett from Bob Marley and The Wailers, mixing their own multicultural influences, Jahgun and The Justifyah band spread the message of positivity, union, unconditional love, and freedom at all their performances. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท A perfect way to close out Do West Fest. As the festival wrapped up, the streets of Little Portugal came alive with the sound of drums, movement, and celebration. One of my favourite moments wasnโ€™t on a stage, but right in the middle of the crowd, surrounded by the energy of performers and festival-goers moving to the same rhythm. The percussionists transformed an ordinary Toronto afternoon into something unforgettable. Every beat echoed through the alleyways, drawing people together. Strangers danced, smiles spread through the crowd, and for a little while everyone shared the same pulse. Moments like these are why I love photographing festivals. Beyond the performances, itโ€™s the joy, culture, and sense of community that make these events special. Capturing those connections is always the most rewarding part. ๐Ÿฅ What a way to close out Do West Fest 2026. The energy at the Toronto Samba Reggae Festival in Little Portugal was absolutely contagious. From the first beat to the final group photo, the crowd showed up ready to dance, sing, and celebrate together. One of my favourite parts of photographing festivals is capturing moments that show not just the performers, but the connection between the artists and the community around them. Standing on stage and seeing hundreds of smiling faces dancing along was something special. A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing the Toronto Samba Reggae Festival to Dundas West.
