STUDENT-ATHLETE OFFICIALLY 👨🏼‍🎓🚨

After almost a decade of walking and growing together, I’m incredibly proud to announce that Gustav is officially a student-athlete, with two years of NCAA eligibility ahead of him.

Destination ➡️ University of San Francisco @usfdonsmbb, competing in the West Coast Conference @wccsports

This was a goal from the very beginning — from that Scania Cup in Södertälje in 2017 with Virum Vipers U14, through Zaragoza, Aarhus, Charleroi and Manresa, and so many unforgettable experiences along the way, including Real Madrid visits, Derrick Rose Camp 2018 in Kaunas, the U16 European Championship in Sarajevo, Adidas All Star European U18 Team 2019 in Vitoria, Adidas Eurocamp 2024 in Treviso, and many others.

Reaching this point has not been easy. It has taken patience, persistence, countless hours of paperwork and the support of many great people and institutions — especially Manresa, Spirou Charleroi, Bakken Bears, the Danish Basketball Federation, @frankieferrari.2 (🫡) and the entire USF staff.

This is only a new beginning, but I know the best is yet to come. Life and basketball still have some beautiful surprises waiting for you, and for us.

Thank you for your friendship and your trust

FROM TORREJÓN TO A WORLD CHAMPION 🌍🏆

10 years ago, Iván was playing in Primera Nacional, the 5th tier of Spanish basketball.

What followed has been an incredible journey across the world:

@torrejon.basket → Estudiantes (EBA) → Guadalajara (LEB Silver) → CBA Canarias (Primera Nacional) → Indian Hills (JUCO) → New Mexico State (NCAA) → Iceland (Thor & Grindavík) → Chile → Albacete (1° FEB) → Gipuzkoa (1° FEB) → @onil3x3 → Granada (@acbcom) → Fuenlabrada (1° FEB) → Valencia Basket 3x3 → Estudiantes (1° FEB)

Different countries. Different challenges. Different stages of the game. But always the same PASSION for basketball.

And then, on top of it all… a World Championship with Spain 3x3 @baloncestoesp ‼️🇪🇸🏆

Today, Iván has been honoured by @torrejondexte & the Ayuntamiento de Torrejón alongside the other three World Champions from the city.

A journey built on hard work, perseverance and an unshakable belief in his dreams — dreams that have become mine too.

Proud of you, Iván 🤍 taken in Torrejón De Ardoz Madrid España by @jaime.alonso_

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS ▶️🏀🇦🇹

I am proud to announce the beginning of @redoocybak professional career with the @kufstein_towers in the @basketballsuperliga (Austrian Bundesliga).

Alejandro arrives in Austria after an outstanding NCAA Division II career at @chestnuthillcollege, where he averaged a double-double & shooting +30% 3pts for three consecutive seasons, combining consistent production on the court with a very strong academic record throughout his college career.

His international experience has been equally important to his development. Alejandro has represented @baloncestoesp achieving success in multiple @fiba3x3 United Nations U23 Championships, competing at the highest level of international youth 3x3 basketball. As well as he has played pro 3x3 tournaments with the most recognized organization in Spain @onil3x3

From NCAA Division II to European professional basketball, this is the next step in a career built on consistency, hard work and ambition.

We are also currently working through the process of obtaining his Venezuelan passport 🇻🇪, an important step as we continue to develop further international opportunities for his professional career.

Congratulations and best luck, Alejandro, on this new chapter. 👏🏼👏🏼 The work continues. The journey continues taken in Madrid, Spain by @jaime.alonso_

From an email from his father Robert, back in 2017, while @alonsofaure_ was part of @fundlucentum Youth teams (15yo), to today.

• Leaving home at a young age to join @valenciabasket becoming one of the first players to grow within @lalqueriavbc and winning the Adidas Next Generation Tournament at La Fonteta — the first youth title of Valencia Basket’s new era.

• A summer in Las Vegas with @teamskywalker, competing on the AAU circuits and experiencing American basketball before college.

• Four years at @loyolambb navigating the challenges of NCAA basketball, including the COVID years, and graduating both on the court and in the classroom.

• Becoming one of the first international players to embrace the Transfer Portal era, finishing his college career at @pepperdinembb in the @wccsports, one of the premier conferences for international athletes.

• 1st Pro Contract: A season and a half with @oviedocb arriving with one clear mission: help the club win during its transition from Pumarín to Palacio de los Deportes. Mission accomplished, reaching the first promotion Final Four to the ACB in the club’s history.

No shortcuts.

Just consistent work, steady growth, and earning every opportunity—on the court and in the classroom.

And that’s exactly why you’ve earned your place where you are today.

Now... on to the next challenge with @obradoiro.cab in @acbcom Liga Endesa ACB.

We keep going 👏🏼👏🏼 taken in Multiusos Fontes do Sar by @jaime.alonso_

Some journeys are special because you’ve had the chance to witness them from the very beginning.

From our first meeting in Torrelodones in 2012, to Hartford, Charlotte 49ers, Loyola Maryland, UCLA, and now with the Toronto Raptors in the NBA. It’s been inspiring to watch your growth every step of the way.

I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished. Even more grateful for the positive influence you’ve had on my own journey.

Hvala, Ivo. The best is still ahead. 🤝🏀 taken in Encore Las Vegas by @jaime.alonso_

A huge thank you to the @labc_basketball Latino Association of Basketball Coaches (LABC) (and @coach_jasonludwig) for the invitation to their @nbasummerleague Suite.

It was a pleasure to share this experience together with @borisbalibrea, attending the NBA Summer League as a guest coach with the @brooklynnets

The NBA Summer League is always a great opportunity to reconnect with friends, meet new people from across the basketball world, and exchange ideas with coaches, scouts, executives, and agents from every corner of the game.

We truly appreciate LBAC’s hospitality and everything they do to bring the basketball community together. Looking forward to seeing you again soon! by @jaime.alonso_

✅ Another edition of @larodau12 in the books… and every year it means a little bit more.

This tournament will always have a special place in my heart. It’s where so many memories were made, where my love for basketball grew, and where I learned lessons that still stay with me today.

Being able to come back and give something back to the next generation is a privilege I never take for granted. Seeing so many kids enjoying the game, making friends, and creating memories of their own reminds me why basketball has given me so much.

🙏🏼 Thank you to everyone who makes this event possible, and to every player, coach, volunteer, and family who keeps its spirit alive. by @jaime.alonso_

🎙️”With the 60th Pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee @bucks select Malique Lewis from San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago!” 🇹🇹✈️🇺🇸

Still can’t believe we finally heard those words…

Congratulations @jweekesf for the years of hustle, and the many more to come. And a huge thank you to everyone behind this unpredictable success—from Torrejón to Milwaukee, via Fuenlabrada, Mexico, and Melbourne 🌍🏀

From a 14-year-old kid leaving Trinidad with a bag full of dreams, to a grown man officially drafted into the best league in the world: the NBA. Being by your side through this entire rollercoaster has been an absolute honor. We saw the vision when nobody else did. We embraced the grind, took the risks, and conquered the unpredictable. I couldn’t be prouder of you, but the journey is just beginning.

Let’s keep shocking the world! 🦌👑🔥 taken in John Cain Arena by @jaime.alonso_
