The best question a family ever asked me before booking: 'How do we pick a location that fits us?' 👇🏼

The right answer usually isn't the prettiest spot in town.

It's the place where your kids already feel comfortable and the spot close enough that nobody melts down in the car 😉

Here's how I help families choose:

1 - Pick a location that is meaningful to you as a family. Your favorite park, beach, or playground can all be great for family sessions.

2 - Choose a location that is close to home so that everyone will be in a good mood and ready once they arrive.

I always try to make sessions as easy and move quickly as possible. Might even have a few tricks up my sleeve for the kiddos too!

My October comfort movie is When Harry Met Sally, and I've probably watched it 100+ times 🍁

Every fall I put it on while I edit galleries or need a little fall outfit inspiration. I am always a 'Sally Albright' come October 1st.

Work Wife for Life👰🏻‍♀️

I was so excited to see Corrie when she was in town. If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve probably met Corrie as we worked together for 4 years.

She was the best assistant (and friend) anyone could ever hope for. We had an unspoken dialog that only comes from time together.

She always kept me hydrated, knew where my lip balm was, and had hair ties for me on the ready❤️

It was a honor to see @corriemeetsworld and take photos of her with her new husband and sweet family. She moved to the sunshine state and thrilled to catch her when she was in town!

Talk about a full circle moment 😍

Cannot wait to share more from their session but for now, you get this funny reel.

I couldn’t wait to make this reel with her and she was of course all in 🤣

Definitely one for the books🥂

Congratulations to the newlyweds! G & B had a PERFECT wedding weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine.

They held their intimate wedding at @hiddenpond which is such an incredible property!

Want to know what families struggle the most with in their fall family sessions?

Deciding on what to wear.

Here is what I tell everyone:

Wear what makes you feel good and something you are not going to fuss about. Stick to a similar color palette for family members - think hues and tones and type of outfits - dressed up vs. casual - and please remember to keep it easy!

What to skip: ALL BLACK (never!), new shoes, large logos or thin checked shirts because they make funny patterns in camera.

What always works in New York City in the fall: Autumn hues of brown, burgundy, and dark greens. Denim and pops of color. Textured sweaters and lots of smiles, of course!

And if you are already thinking about holiday cards, start pulling outfits now. I promise the December version of you will be relieved.

Save this for when you open your closet and immediately close it again.

25 years later, it still feels like yesterday.

Today is a day of remembrance. A day of sadness, hope, and all that could have been, but it's also a story of strength, love, and determination.

I've shared my story each year, and it never fades. Being here, on the subway when the first plane hit, and walking out on 23rd and 5th into a whole new world.

It used to be my favorite spot in Manhattan. You could see the Empire State Building, Flatiron Building, and twin towers in a 360- degree radius.

Watching the second plane hit WTC and crying in the conference room when I spoke to my uncle and knowing he was still alive. He is now a retired NYPD officer from the Emergency Service Unit 1.

We will never forget what happened on Sept. 11th, 2001 and as a New Yorker, we will remember the love and courage that covered the city in the days, months, and years after the attacks.

People on the West Side Highway clapping for the FDNY, NYPD, and recovery teams as they went down to the site every day to help build our city back. Putting themselves in harm's way every day to help others. It's something you can never forget!

It's always going to be New York or Nowhere.

Now, always, and forever ❤️
