A couple of weeks ago, I was honored to receive my Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. What a journey this has been. I’m beyond grateful to everyone who’s been part of it — my training partners, the incredible coaches I’ve had over the years, and of course @taeshodolee69, who not only introduced me to the art but has stood by my side, teaching and guiding me every step of the way.

I could never have reached this milestone without the support from everyone I’ve met on this journey. The countless hours of training, the push from everyone I’ve met on the mats and the unwavering support throughout the highs and lows. The past few years have been challenging personally, which makes this accomplishment even more meaningful. Thank you, Lord, for this blessing.

With that said, the journey doesn’t end here — it’s only just beginning. taken in Marlon Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu New York City by @jairo2591

This past weekend, I received my third-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and Shotokan #taeshodo. I'm incredibly honored and humbled to have been practicing this martial art for over 25 years. Thank you, @taeshodolee69, for being there for me through all these years. by @jairo2591

10 years ago today I remember taking you to Coney Island for your birthday. I'm so happy I asked you to pose for a picture every second I got because your smile continues to carry me 10 years later. I wish you were here to guide me. I am so lost without you. taken in Coney Island by @jairo2591

Days are harder and harder without you by my side. That is especially evident when it's your birthday. Your absence is truly felt and words alone aren't sufficient to express that. I miss you, Adalis. My Superhero, my Wonder Woman. by @jairo2591
