Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the M•E•L•A•N•I•N Documentary and Book created by the Visionary @marieantoinette929 ! I remember this day like it was yesterday, my first shoot alone, doing what I love to do, for a cause much bigger than myself. I won’t go too much into details cause I’ll have us all in tears, but I would be remiss if i didn’t thank the person who was the reason I was even in the room , @liaimanii . Lia , I’ve thanked you privately a million times over, but here’s a million and one, publicly. You didn’t know me from a can of paint and had only met me one time in a dance class. When we talk about women supporting women, and passing the baton to bring someone else on the journey even if you’re fully capable of completing the job yourself, Lia you showed me that in a way I’d never seen before. Thank you for believing that I could contribute to the beautiful work you and the other models had already set forth. You are a real one, and I won’t ever forget this , and I will never stop supporting you ! 🙏🏾🫂🤞🏾💙

@marieantoinette929 , MUVA Libra, thank you for trusting me with your baby and passion project! You too, did not know me but took Lia’s word and ran with it. You were so welcoming and loving and kind. What you created will outlive you , outlive us all! I am so humbly grateful to have been apart of such a special moment in time. So much love for you and the entire MELANIN Cast !

Wedding Tings 🌸🌺. Nothing but family and love 🤞🏾💖. What a time 😎🥂

It’s always an honor to witness love and joy , and this occasion was nothing short of just that ! So many gems and wisdom were given and received, I’ll hold it forever. WOW!! And I was asked to dance at the reception, what a gift! I’m so glad I’m such a present person, you don’t get to replace moments like this.

I’m forever grateful to my lil sis @imbrookeann_duh for the call in celebrating her mother’s big day. Auntie Trace @tracegodoy thank you for being the woman you are. An example and standard are the bare minimum of what I could say. I know that God is smiling and shining His love and grace upon you and Mr. David tenfold. Thank you so much for allowing me to be present. And thank you for the rose, and what it stood for.
