Screened is a receipt generator for your Letterboxd. put in your username, get your top rated films, your stats, and a personality diagnosis of what your watch history says about you.

this started as a conversation with my friend Tanya :) we thought it would be funny. i’m more of an anime person, but i’m surrounded by cinephiles and i wanted to build something for them. whimsy project innit?

the receipt design was quite fun to do. i wanted it to feel physical, like an actual printed receipt. the roasts are AI-generated so every receipt is a little different.

alright i’m semi-done? with jaju’s café

i started this because i’ve been experimenting with 3D and thinking about what can happen at the intersection of design, code and AI.

the café was created in Blender, iterated through Blender Python, exported as a compressed 3D model, and brought to the browser with Three.js, WebGL and vanilla JavaScript. you can move around it, switch the lights on and off, open the cabinet, listen to the clock tick and discover the space through the objects themselves.

it’s still an experiment and very much a work in progress. next, i want to add a working café radio, music, coffee-making, pastries and more tiny interactions that make the place feel alive.

i’ve also made the project open source. i’ll keep making it better, but you can explore it, learn from it, remix it or help improve it too :)

In the spirit of analogue living, i made a website - noto; it houses fun (sometimes silly little) quizzes about random things. There are three quizzes you can try on the website right now

- What’s your Ancient Greek archetype?
- Are you the problem?
- What type of raver are you?

Every week, i’ll update noto with a new quiz. If you’d like to be notified when new quizzes are up, there’s a form for you to fill just before the footer.

This website stressed me out i cannot lie, but i am pretty satisfied with the output. I love learning, and i love building random things.

What’s the Soundtrack? is a playlist generator that uses prompts based on a feeling, a moment or an era in life. I have been struggling with discovering music for certain moods, so i decided to build a generator that solves just that. My first project memos was rather ambitious (but fun) so i wanted something more whimsical this time.

For design, i took the retro-game early 2000s route because i am a sucker for analogue living, and i think music and playlists, the whole concept of discovering songs and writing it down on a piece of paper feels very nostalgic to me :)

I learned it’s not always easy to bring your design to life in a pixel perfect way. This started with a frog mascot that resembled the clippy mascot in early Windows, but i dropped it when i struggled with the hover state in CSS. It also started with a “save to library” function, but that turned into a whole Spotify API situation i wasn’t ready for 😭 maybe v2?
