what is there to say? so much love for the 134 valentines who came home with me to the @elysiantheater saturday night for the premiere of INSTAMACY

extremely special thanks to the one and only @linzybeltran for imbuing Pluggy with your sweet mischievous soul @dwagner95 for tech directing the zany action on my crazy contraption and hollywood icon @racheloftroy for playing the show’s dreams-come-true girl and gracing the audience with real hope and true romance

on a personal note I find making this show has helped me clarify my role as a digital john doe using total theater to inhabit the taboos and contradictions of modern life, mirror the ridiculous intrusions of capital, and carve out a little human sovereignty

10/10 highly recommend would go again
instamacy will return

there’s nothing more cringe than putting your actual beliefs and ideas on the line, and in that spirit i bring you PEAK CRINGE, an original essay about cringefluencers transcending platform nationalism at the formal level

[nathan for you voice] the plan? demonstrate how from the toronto school of marshall mcluhan and lorne michaels to the @nobudge academy of @simple__town and @lornemichaels, from the lead protagonism of @leadprotagonist to the cool media of @veronika_iscool, from the blessing of cringe icarus @nathanfielder to the farsi winnipeg of @rankinoscope, the explosion of metafiction is a story of mass video literacy uncensorably reshaping the world

thank you to these artists whom i admire, to @joy.qiuyu for creating the editorial art, to the trusted counsel of friends who told me to stop ruining parties and start putting my citizen journalism to paper, and to you, dear reader… here’s hoping that the secondhand embarrassment of my long-read heals with mortifying recognition

PEAK CRINGE out now link in bio
