TKM O Plate:

Qualifying: Qualified P5 after driving the Rotax the day before so wasn't too unhappy.

Heat 1: Engine issues meant I dropped to P10 after being with the lead group all race.

Heat 2: Drove back up to P6 after a double overtake at T1.

FINAL: Shortened 6 minute final and a poor start by the outside row meant I didn't have time to get up to the front after dropping some places at the start. Still drove back to P4 by the end.

HKRC Rd 3:

Heat 1: Started P8 and made my way through to P3 just trying to keep my nose clean. Solid pace for the whole race and never lost touch with the leaders.

Heat 2: Started P6 and after a strong start, was able to push my way through to P2. Lost P2 towards the end, but a switchback out the bus stop meant I gained two places in one. Some defensive driving on the last lap meant I held on for the win.

Final: Started P2 but lost one spot off the start. Gained it back and, with 8 minutes left, decided to play the wingman in order to get away from the chasing pack. With two minutes to go, I tried all I could to get past, but a crazy defensive drive from @tkmshaw42 meant I just lost out on my first final win at Kimbolton by 0.05 seconds. It hurts to miss out by such a small margin, but it brings good momentum and confidence to the next round.

Huge congrats to @tkmshaw42 for the perfect final and some of the craziest late braking I have ever seen. Thanks to @klaassenmotorsport for the constant support and advice. Back out in April for HKRC on the maxxis whites. by @jake_cox_racing

Up to Kimbolton for our first race of the year. Mostly getting the rust off after not having driven since November.

Heat 1: P2 --> P7
Struggled to adjust to the wet weather conditions, which meant we went backwards at the start.

Heat 2: P8 --> P4
Changed some parts of the setup as well as my driving to gain some pace. Mega start round the outside of T1 got me to P4 but still lacked the pace to stay with the leaders.

Final: P6 --> P4
Struggled to get the slicks up to temp on a damp track so struggled at the start. Some crash avoidance got me up towards the front but couldn't stay with the lead pack. Some fighting meant I caught up as the clock hit 0 but could only gain 1 place on the final lap to move up to P4.

Big thanks to @klaassenmotorsport for helping keep on top of the conditions all weekend.

Not an ideal O-plate, but found some pace towards the end to mix it up in the final. Sadly, a coming together on the last corner on the last lap meant we couldn't see where we would have come out, but we know we can stick with the front pack.

Extreme club round was similar with lacking pace all weekend till the end of the day where we made up some places but couldn't quite get as far forward as I would have liked.

Kimbolton club round up next, so we will see what we can do. by @jake_cox_racing

Mixing it up with a trip to Forest Edge for round 2 of NKC

Was a good weekend overall with lots learnt over the Friday and Saturday practice days as I adjusted to the white Maxxis tyres.

Heat 1 - Made up +6 starting 14th on the grid. Showing we had good pace and could move through the field despite losing power over the last few laps because of a broken exhaust flex

Heat 2 - Made up +8 starting from 17th. Good pace in the wet meant I could cut through the field and get some good points for the final

Heat 3 - Lost -1 starting 3rd. Was able to run 2nd for the majority of the race but lacked that final bit of pace to move forward as the battling started

Final - Gained +1 starting 5th. Getting pinched at the start meant I lost touch with the front group early on and had to fight to stay ahead of the pack. Some defensive driving on the last few laps meant I held on to 4th place over the line

Big thanks to @klaassenmotorsport for the setup help as well as getting the big decisions right when the track conditions were changing. And congrats to @jake_humphrey51 for P3 in the final

First time at Rye House on Monday to run an engine in. Ended up with loads of track time. We were out 10mins in every 30mins. Had great fun afterwards and went in my friends Senior Rotax (thanks Steve W). Great fun and worth the day out 🏎️🏁 by @jake_cox_racing
