What a weekend. What a year. What an amazing blessing to fish the last 6 years in the @mlfbig5official BFLs as a co-angler. I cannot stress enough how badly I have wanted to claim the points title for the Cowboy division since I started fishing these events full time in 2021. But I didn’t really know if it was possible until yesterday. Getting that text with the points standing was the most relief and elation I have felt in tournament fishing. I battled all year to be the best and most consistent version of myself on the water possible, and it all came together this weekend for a 3rd place finish in the Super Tournament and the Co-Angler of the Year Title. I can’t thank those of you who reached out, supported me, taught me, helped me, pushed me, encouraged me, and made me feel like this dream was worth pursuing. I am blessed beyond measure to have the backing and family/friends that I have, and I do not ever take that for granted. I don’t know what the future holds for me in fishing, but I don’t intend to stop this train anytime soon. I love bass fishing and I love you all!! Next stop Grand Lake!! taken in Frisco, Texas by @jake_smith_fishing

A few days removed from this post due to having to immediately go back to work… but if you had told me a few years ago when I started this little hobby of mine that I would have not one but TWO BFL Champion trophies sitting on my shelf at home… I just don’t know if I would believe you. This was totally unexpected going into this event, all the way up until the final co-angler weighed in. I thought I had enough weight for possibly a top ten but never anticipated that it would be anything more than that. I love this sport, and am so grateful to all the people in my corner and those I have met along the way that have encouraged and helped and mentored me. This win is for all of you who believe in and support me. I will definitely post more later about how I caught my fish, but for now… I just want to soak this one in. Love yall!!! taken in Toledo Bend Reservoir by @jake_smith_fishing

Took me a while to post this cause I had to immediately go back to work after the tournament… but last weekend was absolutely magical. My first major win on the @mlfbig5official in the Sam Rayburn Super Tournament. I cannot believe it still but we were able to get the job done over two days of fishing in the worst heat I think I have ever seen in a tournament. Not only did I win, but I also took home Big Bass accolades for an 8-6 BEAUTY that I caught on the first day. The calls, texts, dms, comments and the overall outpouring of support I have felt these past few days is humbling and moving. I couldn’t do it without y’all. I will definitely post more the next few days concerning my win and the gear I used, but for now, I just wanna say thank you. This win is for all of you that believe in a support what I am trying to do. Thank you to all the guys at @pridefishingrods for getting me the best equipment I need to compete. Thank you to my boaters, Clayton and Hayden, you guys were instrumental in my success. Thank you to my family and friends. The little kid in the last picture would be so happy to see what we have done. I LOVE YALL!! WE DID IT!! taken in Umphery's Pavilion at Lake Sam Rayburn by @jake_smith_fishing

Fished clean and hard on Day 1 of the Super BFL on Big Sam Rayburn. She is stingy this week, but we are sitting in 9th going into Championship Sunday. We may also have a shot at Coangler Of the Year, but just gonna keep the head down and the mind clear and try to finish this season strong….. stay tuned tomorrow!! taken in Umphery's Pavilion at Lake Sam Rayburn by @jake_smith_fishing

I think of all the crazy tackle addictions and lure and bait purchases I’ve made over the years…. One bait stand alone. I have about 16k in official @mlfbig5official earnings over my 6 seasons, and one bait that I can honestly say that about is the @roboworm_official 6” Fat Worm. It has done more for my tournament fishing than almost everything else in my arsenal. I know that 24/7, 365 days a year, especially in East Texas, your boy can get bit on a drop shot, and this is the plastic that 9 out of 10 times that I choose to put on. Definitely a dream to work with or represent them in the future… #please #roboworm #fishing #fypage taken in Frisco, Texas by @jake_smith_fishing

Had an absolute blast fishing recently with my good friend and fellow brown fish connoisseur Charlie!! It was definitely a quality over quantity type of day… not that either of us complained in the slightest. 3 smallmouth for dang near 12 lbs of total weight!! I am glad to have had the day I had with such a good friend and spiritual mentor. Btw, the last picture is a hint at what tricked these Samsonites 😂😂😂 give it your best guess in the comments!! 🫣 @zmanfishingproducts by @jake_smith_fishing

God is good!! Blessed to have had a wonderful Easter morning with family and an evening filled with these amazing brown creatures and great company @jake_inderman4 . Reflecting on my spiritual growth has been somewhat bittersweet, as for many years I feel I was completely lost. I feel I have turned a major corner in my life and faith this last year, and feel incredibly humbled by His mercy and love given my sins and flaws. Still learning and growing….but I do know these truths. Christ is King. I am blessed beyond measure. And I love Smallmouth Bass😆. Happy Easter everyone!! taken in Frisco, Texas by @jake_smith_fishing
