2025 Suburban Ohio Buck ✅

I was on a Kentucky rut hunt when this buck started daylighting back in Ohio, so Nick and I switched gears. I was excited to hunt this old buck with a ton of character, but I had no idea he’d end up being my “highest-scoring buck”.

It was one of those roller-coaster hunts. We felt confident enough to take off work and slip into this deer’s bedding area. While we were filming another buck, he popped out of nowhere. Everything happened in a rush, which led to a quick shot, and I hit him farther back than I wanted. Even though he only ran a short distance, he crossed the property line… leading us to have to come in contact with the neighboring landowner who didn’t want anyone stepping onto his land.

After a bit of sweet-talking and a box of cupcakes, we ended up on good terms, and he let me retrieve the deer just 70 yards past the property line.

From beginning to end on this hunt I couldn’t have done this without @nick.nartker I’m extremely fortunate to have a cousin/best friend to share this passion with! taken in Ohio by @jakebittner1

“Grandma” is heading home

Our target deer gained this name when I started telling my customers I couldn’t work on the weekends because I had to see my “Grandma”… didn’t want to lie but not everyone understands what you have miss out on to catch up to some of these big mature deer.

Started in September on the first lease I ever joined, a 200acre track with 22ppl for $250/per person. Scouting the land we realized it was pretty pressured so we went where no one wanted to walk to… found great sign and hung our trail cams. A week goes by and “Grandma” made his first appearance. Funny enough I sent in our group chat “giving him another year” because of the angle he showed himself.. then the video came in and I realized what he really was.

The next 3 months we traveled almost every weekend hunting these deer during archery season but never saw him once, almost seemed like a ghost. November 27 gun season started and we sat 2 long days in high winds with 20 degree rain. That 2nd day November 28th I shot the biggest buck of my life at 4:30pm

Everything still seems unreal. I’ve never had more respect for a deer in my life and I’m beyond thankful for this opportunity.

Huge shoutout to my boys in Ohio for letting me stay with them.. Friends, Family, and viewers y’all are amazing mental support so thank you. And especially @sam.uminski for taking this journey with me as my camera man, he absolutely killed the footage and I cant wait for y’all to see the video.

9-25-26- Honored to take such a great Pennsylvania buck.

This is a deer I came across last year after having 1 photo late season and knew he had the potential to be something special. Fast forward all the way to this year he had shifted out of my area and I didn’t get my first photo of him until 2 weeks before season and knew immediately it was gonna be one of the target bucks! I started door knocking right away and the stars started to align… After one sit on a new property it all came together. Right where I expected it would!

I’ll never take for granted having the ability to partake in a hunt and I’m beyond blessed to have some amazing friends and family to make these experiences even more memorable.

Throwback to 2024. Opening day deer drives in the city. Sometimes it gets a bit western but this was one of the craziest bump and dumps we’ve ever done!

Gotta love good times spent with the boys.
