A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives

Such a special weekend walking the stage at Darden with Brooks!

I front-loaded classes earlier in the year, which gave me the chance to spend the last few months of school as a full-time dad. We pulled Brooks out of daycare, and I traded cases and classes for parks, nap time, way too much ice cream, and seeing the world through the eyes of a one-year-old.

It ended up being the best part of business school and a great reminder of what matters most and lasts the longest.

Couldn’t be more grateful for the last two years at Darden, and couldn’t be more excited to join Lazard’s GP-Led Secondaries team in New York at the end of July.

In the meantime, I’ll be soaking up a little more family time and enjoying the full-time dad life a bit longer. taken in UVA Darden School of Business by @jakebusby

When Jake Busby (Class of 2026) and his wife Victoria welcomed baby Brooks, they had no idea two familiar faces would be by their side: labor & delivery nurse Emory Tonore, and OBGYN resident Dr. Maddy Coleman, both partners of Jake’s Darden classmates 👶💙

This is a beautiful reminder of the strength of the Darden community — not just in the classroom, but in life’s most important moments!
