this was one of the hardest things i have ever done in my life. i was the most prepared and ready i have ever been for an event, but i simply just made too many mistakes, both on the water and as a person, and the result is a consequence of that. it hurts.

however, mistakes bring opportunity to improve and grow, and losses remind you of how badly it hurts to lose and give motivation to continue to reach for goals. it’s all a part of the process, and it’s a test of how you respond when things don’t go the way you want them to.

i am grateful for the opportunity to represent the USA and for all the support. i’m proud of myself for continuing to fight when things got tough.
