I’m crashing the mic for 2 hours next Tuesday at @universal_bar_grill for my friend and fellow comic Joey Sorice who passed away. This is for the comics that knew Joey well to share stories, tell your favorite jimmy and Joey joke, etc. My dear friend. It’s been a tough time to process as life has been busy as it should and this mic is to honor Joey and an opportunity for the comics to get together and have one more laugh with Joeys last light. In comedy from my experience a last light is a final showcase or mic or however you want to do it to honor a comedian who is no longer with us. I miss you Joey. I miss you so much I’m going to tell a couple of my favorite jokes of yours on stage and do material I only did when you put me up on your shows. Come over. I ll tag more comics that I encourage to come sign up. by @jakelbassi

An opportunity to get up at the store is often a surreal one. My dear friend Joey Sorice passed away recently. I woke up from a nap and I had the day off. I heard him in my head telling me to get off my ass and go to the store so I went. I got up on potluck. For those that don’t know it’s pretty much a roll of the dice to get up at potluck unless you’re cooking at comedy or winning set of the night to get that guaranteed spot at the end of it. I’m employed I can’t always go. Call me crazy but I felt that Joey put me up one last time. Make God laugh paisano. I will miss you dearly. Thank you for putting me up on your shows when I was a 14 year old boy being a theatre nerd and seeing my performing spirit. Thank you for showing me what comedy is actually like: the brutal parts that nobody sees. The parts where you bomb your dick off at a cold unforgiving patio show sometimes. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s not. You were my first coach in comedy. Thank you so so much and I will never forget you. by @jakelbassi
